Excellent Quality, Very Good Value
Good looking design with glass top and a sturdy build for it's diminutive size. Accuracy is excellent. They are very easy to use. The tare function is handy i.e the ability to reset the scale to zero when something is already on it. This makes adding ingredients very easy. I bought it to assist my gym training where control of calories and macro-nutrients are important. This accurately lets me know exactly what food size portions I'm consuming and combined with the MyFitnessPal app lets me work out calories and macro-nutrients with ease. This is particularly good value as there appears to be an identical scale here on Amazon simply with a different brand name put on it at a much more expensive price. Bear in mind this scale was originally £29.99. I spent a while looking at scales on Amazon and these were by far the best for the money I spent.

Good value for the price, accurate ans still going strong after 2 years of daily use!
I have used it intensively (=several times a day) for the past 3 months and it's fine so far, I haven't had to change the battery yet. Seems to weigh quite accurately to 1-2g. I like the glass top (easy to clean) and the fact that the buttons and screen are below so you can access/see even with a big bowl on it. As mentioned in other reviews, the automatic switch off is sometimes a bit annoying when you're weighing several things in a row, but it still takes more than a minute so after it has happened a few times, you just know it and pay attention. At least that saves the battery!I don't know if it will last long, but so far I am happy with my purchase considering the cheap price.EDIT December 2015: after 2 years of daily use (!), this scale is still going strong. The batteries last for a while, and it never failed. I didn't think it would last that long, thus changed my rating to 5 stars!

Fantastic for the money
These scales are great! Some reviewers have commented on the 'quick' turn-off time if you leave them for too long, I suppose that depends on what your definition of 'quick' is and how you organise your cooking ingredients, but I have found a minute is long enough for me. The biggest benefit for me is the minute increments you can measure in in terms of grams, and also the fact you can measure liquids like water and milk without a measuring jug, and again in much smaller quantities, accurately. The scales are easy to wipe clean and sit neatly in the cupboard in my kitchen, although they'd look smart on the worktop if I had room to keep them out permanently. Larger bowls will over-hang the display sometimes, but I just re-position the bowl towards the back of the scales rather than centering it on the top, and it measures just as accurately - and from what I've seen most of the popular makes and models of digital scales are more or less the same size anyway. So, in essence, if you're going to pay for a set of domestic digital scales that look good and do the job well why pay more than this? I'd recommend them.

Infuriating at times
Nice and compact design although display could be bigger and the units are in tiny characters. These scales are good in that they offer a choice of units to pre-select. Due to the tiny size, it is easier to recognise the unit selected by its position along the top of the display, rather than reading it!However, the biggest drawback is that it gives no warning of when it is going to turn off to save the batteries. Quite often it is in the middle of a measuring operation and you have to go back to square one.Pressing the top every thirty seconds will keep your item's weight still showing, but it is a bit of a pain to do this when trying to organise ingredients, etc.Look for one which has a manual on/off switch or a warning beep to avoid this annoyance.

Great scales for the price
I bought these scales as my old James Martin ones gave up the ghost just after the years was up. So far I have used them daily and found them to be very accurate. I weigh pretty much all our food out as both my daughter and myself are on diets. I also use them daily for measuring the dog food. The buttons are precise and easy to use. It is also easy to add something else to the plate or bowl by just pressing the zeroing button before adding. The fact that they weigh in lbs and ounces too is an advantage as many of my old recipe books show the measurements in those weights. My only reason for putting 4 stars rather than 5 is that the actual measurements of the machine mean that it can be a little difficult to see the measurements if the bowl or plate is large.Oh and the fact that it only takes 1 battery is also a good feature. So all in all very pleased with the purchase.
