Easy to use good product
This product works for me. It was exactly what I was looking for. The set-up and installation is extremely easy even for someone like me who is not technically inclined. All the information on Liberty Shield website is useful and easy to understand and follow.

Easy to set up. Slows streaming data
This system was very, very easy to plug and play. I configured it very quickly. I have found however, that, for example, Netflix pixelates and takes time to download so the system is slowing down the data feed noticeably. I have only used it for a week now so possibly this will improve.

Does what’s it’s meant to
I have used Liberty Shield VPN Routers for years now and found them to be very reliable. It’s easy to set up and use and the price is very competitive. The signal strength is always very good and in my experience does not drop out. The size of the router makes it very discreet next to your internet suppliers router and this also makes it very portable. I would recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a secure connection or when looking to watch Uk TV while overseas.

Poor Product, Even Worse VPN Service
The only positive thing I can say about this VPN Router is that it was easy to set up. On a negative side, it has 3 major issues which I consider to be critical. In order of priority: - LibertyShield as a VPN provider should be ashamed of their service. The service drops far too regularly... and it is definitely their service as the broadband connection is working perfectly when not routed through the VPN. As a paying customer, I expected the service to be up 100% of the time. - Connection speeds reduce dramatically when routing through the VPN... and I mean via an ethernet cable and not the WiFi. If you stream anything that is in HD then expect poor buffering and a video stream that stops and starts. Even loading a stream is noticeably slower. Again regular broadband has no such issue. - The WiFi signal is very poor. Basically, if you are intending to connect this to a media device then make sure that device can be connected via an ethernet cable. The WiFi is also extremely slow both to connect to and download/upload transfer rates. In short, I paid for a year’s subscription after the free trial as there was a 50% offer and I cannot see myself renewing unless LibertyShield dramatically improve the consistency of their service. There are most definitely better products and services available.

Instructions to remove LibertyShield Lite.
With internet speeds increasing all the time and Gigabit networking common I'm not sure why anyone would bother with a 100Mbs router. If however you want a cheap one to take a look at how Mikrotics RouterOS works here's how. Google for Mikrotik Netinstall. The first link to Mikrotiks home page will take you to the necessary documentation. The process uses the reset button on the back of the router to put the device into Netinstall mode which allows you to connect to the router and flash the latest version of the Mikrotik software. The downloads page on Mikrotiks website has the latest software downloads and Netinstall. Follow the process in the documentation carefully its easy to follow but Netinstall isn't totally intuitive to use. One tip to save wasting time is to restart (take power lead out and put it back) the router after the Netinstall process is complete then do a standard reset to give you the full factory default (info on Mikrotiks website google Mikrotik Reset - pull power hold in reset button replace power and keep reset pressed until the LED nearest the reset switch flashes). After Netinstall the router has no basic config info at all which may confuse some people, after the reset the device is just as it would be if bought new. With the price of these going below a tenner I've bought two and flashed the software so I can set up a little Mikrotik lab for under £20 to see how their software works with wireless point to point configurations.

Superb
Excellent piece of kit. So simple to install (plug into mains and attach to main router). Used to have Open VPN but very intermittent and failing service. Very fast, (hardly any buffering at all, if any) very secure router - great for watching BBC & ITV Hub abroad. Absolutely delighted with it so far. Wish I'd changed it months ago, but didn't realise it was my exisiting VPN that was the problem. Another benefit, great first year deal on the annual subscription. The saving more than paid for the cost of the kit, including postage. BRILLIANT!

As advertised ADDITIONAL. After having this for a while I can say you would probably be better going somewhere else for your VPN needs. It stops working far too often to make it worth having. I frequently have to disconnect from this router and go directly via my ISP router to get a connection
