I had a bad case of new tank syndrome. I’d added nine fish to my new tank, and the water went cloudy like fog overnight. It was that fast. The lack of the good bacteria had allowed the bad stuff to flourish and remove all the oxygen from the water. My fish were dying. I’d lost six already and was trying to keep the last three alive with 50% water changes every day and basically pleading with them to hang on. In desperation, I put “new tank syndrome” into Google and it came up with some products including this one and linked to Amazon. A quick read of the reviews and I thought “well I’ll try anything. It can’t make things any worse”. I was also intrigued by the “invisible ball” that some reviews talked about. The following day, a little package turns up and sure enough it looked like a little pot of water with nothing inside. However if you tip the pot to an angle, you can see this almost completely invisible gel ball inside. It’s really cool. It’s because the gel has the same refractive index as the water it’s in. I’ve seen something like this on the TV show Qi before. It’s almost worth buying for that effect alone. Anyway, I dropped it directly into my aquarium as there’s no spare space in my filters for it. I didn’t expect too much from it if I’m honest as it’s only cheap. 12 hours later, my tank is almost completely clear of fog and my fish aren’t gasping for oxygen any more. There’s still a tiny bit of cloudiness left, but a few water changes each week and that’ll be gone. It’s a shame that I lost six fish before I knew about this.

Worked as described! Looks like a joke item! A little pot of water, with a ball you really can't see! But pour a bit of water out, put the ball in the aquarium and over night the water cleared. 6 weeks later I can still see the ball although it is very small now

It's been over a decade since I last cycled a tank, so I was trying out fishless cycling with ammonia (highly recommended) and a short while in, because I'm impatient, I decided to try this for seeding the tank. I've heard very mixed reviews on bacterial inoculants but I thought I'd give it a go. Tank was on day 6 of the cycling: no drop in ammonia reading (actually, a slight increase), no detectable nitrite*, not at all unexpected that early on. I tested the water, popped the bomb in the filter and waited 24 hours. Ammonia dropped from 4ppm to ~3ppm, nitrite test clearly reading around 0.25ppm, 0.5 the next day, and today (3 days after adding the bomb) ammonia is at 2ppm and nitrite is up to 2ppm and all. Nitrate appears to have increased ~1ppm *It's possible I was seeing the faintest hint of purple in the nitrite test the two days afore adding the bomb but that may have just been wishful thinking. The cycle could have just been starting already and the bomb did nothing, it was just added on the day before I'd have seen results anyway. Either way, this was not a scientific test, there is no control and this isn't an unreasonably short amount of time for an unseeded tank to potentially start cycling anyway however, as circumstantial evidence goes it's not bad.

Is almost a shame that you can’t see it in the water because the concept of it is pretty cool. Will buy it again though as it has helped

I used the small Aqua balls before and every bit as good but this time around a decided on the Single Aqua Bomb, all in all does what it says on the Box.

This worked. After a full tank clean I added rhis and the water stayed clear for a long time. Usually, I'd see algae appearing quite quickly but not having used this.

Unbelievable, this stuff is magic. Gets to work the minute you put it in the filter.

I would never use this product again, it nearly killed all my fish. I went to work for the day to come back 9hrs later and there was white slime all over my fish. They couldn't move or hardly breathe! I had to take them all out ASAP and literally wash them with fresh water to get this off and then to a compete water change in my tank. I have had these fish for 8 years and would of been devastated if I lost them. I would highly recommend to do research on this product before buying it as I don't know what it did to my tank but it wasent good. I would NOT recommend it. Be warned!

leider kann ich nicht viel dazu sagen, da ich auf meine Fragen vom Verkäufer keine Antworten erhalte. Wir haben es vorsichtig ins Wasser gelegt und nach ca. einer Stunde war das Ding komplett aufgelöst, ob das richtig ist keine Ahnung - zumindest steht das nicht in der Beschreibung des Verkäufers. Leider haben wir von Kunden auch keine Antwort auf diese Frage erhalten - da es wohl zu wenig verkauft wurde. Ich gehe davon aus, dass es einigen so geht wir mir. Ob die Wasserqualität sich verbessert hat - würde ich verneinen! Zumindest würde ich das Produkt nicht noch mal bei dem Verkäufer kaufen.
