Good and sturdy but may require compromises..
So, this is a great, sturdy stand which is height adjustable and looks great. Being collapsible is really useful and I can fit it in my laptop rucksack with my laptop and carry it around no issues. The weight is good, but it's not light. My one issue is that for normal desk use, I simply can't get the stand low enough to get the monitor on my laptop at exactly the right height (for me). I'm 6'4" tall and have a reasonably 50/50 split on long legs/long body. To get the height of the laptop screen just right, I need to arrange the stand so that laptop is pushed forwards meaning that it encroaches reasonably far into the desk, or quite a way backwards, meaning the main weight of the laptop is no longer over the stand and the centre of gravity is too far back causing it to fall backwards. In the end, I've gone with configuring the stand in a forwards position so it's stable (extremely so) and my monitor is at a suitable height for my desk and seating position. To be totally open, my laptop is a MSI gaming laptop weighing in at almost 4Kg. The stand is more than a match for the weight in general but it's more than likely that a lighter laptop would allow for more flexibility in the configuration of the stand as the weight in smaller laptops is more evenly distributed..Overall, I like the stand but I think it's best used when using it with a desk that is suited for the user standing at it where you need the extra height this stand can deliver. For that sort of use, it's going to be perfect for you.UPDATE (March 2020): With the Corona virus outbreak I'm now working from home on an extended basis and found myself needing another laptop stand for my work laptop. Honestly, after 2 years of use of the first one, buying a second one of these was a no brainer. Both laptops are supported well, I've got them at the right height for my eye line and I was right when I predicted a smaller laptop would allow for a less forward configuration of the stand. When I compare the old stand and the new one, they're identical, there's no wobble in either of them and the only way I can tell them apart is the old one has a bit of dust in the nooks and crannies. These things are RUGGED and there's no fear of your laptop being dropped from or knocked off the stand.

Quite heavy but super stable
Quite a heavy stand but I can easily forgive that because its very sturdy and I think practically unbreakable. It even comes in its own travel/storage bag. Height adjustable too. So good im going to get another one for work!

Extremely sturdy
The perfect laptop stand, at long last! I have bought so many, and they are always so flimsy. This is the only one that doesn't flex and wobble. It packs down flat-ish into its carry case. Both the base and the upper platform can have their angle adjusted, and the rear spine has three height settings. The wide spreading legs of the base provide stability at almost any angle. It's relatively heavy compared to others, but I think that's more than made up for by the sturdiness.

Very Sturdy and made of good quality metal
Very cool stand! As a working DJ myself i needed something sturdy and quick to set up and pull down. Before hand I have only used Crane hardware but i decided to test this one out! Very impressed and the quality is brilliant! Height adjustable too, only thing with it is it does take a bit of time to get used to unfolding it and assembly. But once youve done it a few times it you can get quite quick at putting it up!

Awesome product for half the price of a UDG laptop ...
Awesome product for half the price of a UDG laptop stand, really well built and sturdy, if it swivelled at top then that would be the icing on the cake.Other than that will fit into the tightest of DJ booths.

Slightly wobbly but easy fix
The mk1 version of the stand is pictured but mk2 version supplied. The mk2 has an inherent fault causing the stand to wobble / rock slightly. However this is easily fixed and once done this becomes the strongest and most stable laptop stand I have seen. Search YouTube for “Hercules laptop stand wobble fix” for my video explaining how! Despite the issue with the design I would still choose this over any other stand on the market. Loses one star because you need to spend 2 minutes doing what Hercules should have done at the factory! : )
