Power from the Sun - 2nd Edition: A Practical Guide to Solar Electricity - Revised 2nd Edition Paperback – December 5, 2016

This is an outstanding book. After spending a fair amount of time trying to understand Solar Power and PC Systems without much luck I purchased Power from the Sun. I would highly recommend anyone who is considering solar purchase this book. It is east to read, easy to understand, has great illustrations and covers all aspects of solar.

Suitable for beginners in PV or for those who have aspirations in this business, but probably not for those with experience.

I have gone through this process before to install my own rooftop solar, so I know how thoroughly Dan describes everything you need to know. Not only has he written extensively on the topic, but he has conducted numerous workshops on renewable energy, and now operates his own solar installation company. He knows the topic inside out.Dan wants you to be sure that photovoltaic power is right for you before investing substantial time and money for a system. Obviously you need decent solar exposure, but you also need to be aware of the inherent limitations and complexities of the many components of an entire system. Whether to go “off-grid” or set up a grid-tied system, or a hybrid of the two, is thoroughly examined.I highly recommend reading this book, even if you don’t intend to install your own PV system, because it will help guide you through all of the choices that need to be made and will help you monitor a professional job that will provide years of satisfying power from the sun.

Anyone considering getting Solar, this is a must read. Very useful basic information to help you understand.All panels, inverters, installers etc...are not the same!!!
