Apple Thunderbolt cable (2m)

Not the cheapest Thunderbolt cable, but has performed flawlessly. You do pay a premium for Thunderbolt technology anyway, but it works reliably and well. This cable links an iMac to an Anker 577 Thunderbolt dock, so runs several devices through it. For a single device I might 'risk' a cheaper non-Apple cable.

It felt so good to buy a genuine Apple product - having read reviews of non-Apple products, I decided it was not worth the risk of buying something sub-standard. I needed perfect reliable connection between a laptop and a desktop. This product connected the 2 Apple devices perfectly without any errors and I have used it multiple times for all day events - works perfectly.

Cable does exactly what I needed it to, but as others have commented, it's a bit annoying that the only options are 2m or 0.5m. The 0.5m is really quite short for most purposes, but 2m is longer than I need. 1m would have been nice (and presumably cheaper). And that's why I can only give this 4 stars - because I think that paying £32 for a cable is a bit steep.

This a genuine Apple Thunderbolt 2 cable. It is backwards compatible with Thunderbolt 1. It is great for connecting to Thunderbolt 1 and Thunderbolt 2 equipment. It can also be used in conjunction with a Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter to connect new MacBooks (Thunderbolt 3) to Older MacBooks (Thunderbolt 1 and 2) for peer to peer networking. I use this with Apple’s Thunderbolt 3 to 2 Adapter to connect a Late 2012 MacBook Pro with Rentia to an external GPU (AMD RX 580).

I bought this to attach my Thunderbolt 2 audio interface to a Thunderbolt 3 adaptor to my new Mac Mini. It does this perfectly, without any issues so far. It's Apple, it's expensive, it works:-)

The Apple cable is slightly more expensive than others such as Belkin but as someone who uses a lot of Thunderbolt devices I've found the Apple one is the only one that can handle daily unpluging such as when using an external drive between home and work. I have a Belkin one that after a few months just cracked all around the ends of the cable and it is now unusable. It was £5 cheaper but my Apple ones are over a year old and show no signs of wear or issues. My advice would be to buy the Apple cable if you intend to regularly unplug the cable but if you intend to leave a device constantly plugged in, then you could save some money on the cheaper alternatives.

Item doesn’t do what we needed it to do - unable to return so £29 down. Poor service and unusual for Amazon - never experienced not being able to return the item. Very disappointed.

Seems to work as expected. Not a lot more to say really. I do prefer to to use Apple cables with my Apple kit. Although the cables are a little more expensive, I've run into issues with cheaper cables in the past, which ended-up being a false economy, as I then had to buy replacements.

Verwendungszweck: Laut Apple gibt es verschiedene Anwendungsfälle für das Thunderbolt Kabel. Zum einem kann man damit einen iMac als externen Monitor für sein MacBook nutzen oder eben auch einfach Daten von thunderboltfähigen Geräten zu seinem Mac zu übertragen. Testgerät: MacBook Pro 15" mit TouchBar Late 2016 In meinen Fall soll ein externer Monitor (LG 34UM95), welcher mehrere Thunderbolt 2 und USB 3.0 bzw. 2.0 Anschlüsse hat, mit dem MacBook verbunden werden. Dabei sollen gleichzeitig die angeschlossenen USB-Geräte (in meinen Fall eine externe Festplatte, eine USB-Tastatur und eine Funkmaus) angesteuert werden. Damit das alles so funktioniert benötigt man (für das MacBook Pro Late 2016) noch einen Thunderbolt 3 zu Thunderbolt 2 Adapter. Der Vorteil der oben beschriebenen Lösung liegt darin, dass neben dem Bild (welches in voller Auflösung bei 60fps ausgegeben wird), auch gleichzeitig der Ton übertragen wird und zusätzlich die USB-Anschlüsse des Monitors angesteuert werden können. Das gleiche Prinzip funktioniert auch, wenn man damit einen iMac verbindet. Als Hinweis hierzu noch, dass man mit den angeschlossenen USB-Geräten (Tastatur/Maus) das MacBook aufwecken kann und es somit nicht extra aufgeklappt werden muss. Alternative: Bei einer HDMI-Kabellösung wird zwar auch Bild und Ton übertragen. Allerdings wird hier ein weiteres Kabel benötigt um die USB-Anschlüsse ansteuern zu können. Deswegen ist es von dem Verwendungszweck bzw, Monitor abhängig, welche Lösung man anstrebt. Qualität: Die Apple typische Verarbeitungsqualität ist tadellos. Anschlüsse passen maßgenau in den Monitor bzw. Adapter und sind fest darin verankert. Zusammenfassung: Das Thunderbolt 2 Kabel erfüllt den versprochenen Verwendungszweck voll und ganz und ist sehr gut verarbeitet. Der Preis ist zwar dementsprechend relativ hoch, meiner Meinung nach aber vertretbar, da man hier eine "Ein-Kabel" Lösung bekommt und somit für sein MacBook Pro (in meinem Fall) eine gute Docking Station (mit passenden Monitor) bekommt.

Come proprietario del Cavo Thunderbolt Apple da 2 metri, posso dire che sono molto soddisfatto del mio acquisto. La qualità costruttiva è eccellente, con una finitura liscia e una sensazione solida al tatto. Il cavo è molto flessibile e facile da piegare, ma allo stesso tempo abbastanza robusto da resistere alle pieghe e alle piegature quotidiane. La velocità di trasferimento dei dati è sorprendentemente veloce, rendendo molto più facile e veloce il trasferimento di file di grandi dimensioni. Il supporto per video ad alta definizione e audio surround anche è fantastico, con immagini nitide e audio cristallino. Inoltre, il design e la lunghezza del cavo sono molto comodi da usare. La lunghezza di 2 metri è perfetta per la mia configurazione di scrivania, il che significa che non ho bisogno di preoccuparmi di trovare un'altra presa di corrente vicina. In generale, sono molto soddisfatto del mio acquisto e lo consiglio a chiunque abbia bisogno di un cavo Thunderbolt di alta qualità. La qualità costruttiva, la velocità di trasferimento dei dati e il design conveniente lo rendono un acquisto eccellente.
