PIKOLINOS High-Heel Ankle Boot Leather Rotterdam for Woman

These boots are beautiful. They go with everything. I can dress them up or go casual. I have a narrow foot and sometimes have to place orthotics in for comfort and support. I don’t have to with these beauties. Well made! I will definitely purchase this brand again.

I usually take an 8 1/2 in slip-on dress shoes and a 9 in tennis shoes or hiking boots. I bought the reddish boot in 8 1/2 to 9, a European size 39. It fits great. Leather is flexible enough but sturdy. The color is dark red. The elastic on the side pulls the shoe top in a little towards your leg so you don't have a big gap; makes it fit closer and provides better ankle support that way. Heal is about 1 1/2 or 1 2/3 high. Doesn't say this in the description online. I like that heel height. It is comfortable; not too high to hurt your calves or foot arch. I will wear these for many years to come. Overall shoe has a slim look.

This particular boot had the stud/nail sticking out at least 1/8" inch and when my heel hit the boot, painful! I have tried this boot (several times) at a retail store and even when the studs/nails are somewhat imbedded, the padding in the heels is SO inadequate that you can still feel the studs/nails every time your heel comes down on the boots. I'm currently working with a retail store to find insoles that will adequately cover the heel portion, because the boots are cute and otherwise comfortable (no breaking in needed with the leather). However, if I can't find an adequate insole, there will be no purchase for me. I would describe this as a MANUFACTURERS DEFECT with PIKOLINOS and the Rotterdam style that needs to be addressed.

This is my second pair of Pikolino's. It's a smart looking bootie. The leather needs a little breaking in as they are structurally well made. I always wear a shoe in the house first for about 15-20 minutes to see if I need to rub alcohol on a cotton pad in the interior of a shoe where needed. The second wearing was fine.

Im not sure if it was the color, material and/or the oval toe shape (or a combination of all three), these shoes looked too cheap on my feet. Like they came from Payless or something.. They were get 2 stars for being comfy but it was too much money for me to spend on subpar looking shoes so I returned them.
