Hi, According to Google a Canon G1000 is a printer. This item connects a camcorders AV/TV out to a Mac's USB port. You need the AV/TV lead that came with your camcorder.

What setting do i need to set it for long play vhs? seems to work fine with short play

I am not aware of any settings to enable long play. I have transferred up to 2hrs without problems.

does anyone know what alternative software can be used now that videoglide can no longer be used past mojave 10.4? Or what can be done about this?

I’m using Big Sur 11.2 and have just transferred around 7 videos to digital with this kit, within the past 24 hours. I followed all the written instructions and the only thing I did differently was that it says not to use the automatic settings in OBS Studio (the software you use to process the files) But, even with choosing the automatic settings by mistake, it’s transferred all my video and audio over perfectly, and I’ve now uploaded it to YouTube for my family to enjoy.
