Lonely Planet Ukrainian Phrasebook & Dictionary: Essential Phrases & Vocabulary | 3,500 Word Two-Way Dictionary | Travel Confidently | Order Food, Book Tickets, Emergency Situations

Excellent for learning

As a fledgling student of Ukrainian, I went to Collins first for an English-Ukrainian dictionary, only to be sadly let down by its lack of phonetics for the Ukrainian words. No such problem with Lonely Planet. Their book is excellent - filled with useful phrases and information- most importantly to an English speaker: phonetically spelled in brackets, so that you can work out pronunciation without the benefit of a native speaker to teach. Highly recommended as a learning/travelling resource book.

Excellent for students

Many topics with appropriate phrases Haven't noticed the size... Thought will be standard book... My fault...

I'm 101 days into my Duolingo course and wish I'd had this book 3 months ago. It explains grammar and concepts clearly, has clear sections and easy reference sections for new words & phrases as well as clear pronunciation guide that even shows where to place emphasis. It's perfect - almost. It's designed to be pocket-sized & therefore I struggle with the font size

Amazing amount of stuff packed into this book, and beautifully printed. I hope, when the war in Ukraine is over, to visit Kyiv and Odessa and try out the Ukrainian I have learned from this little book. Don't be scared of their alphabet. You won't need to write anything written in it.

This is an absolute must-have in your library if you want to learn Ukrainian ! Incredibly well-researched and meticulous in the explanation of the various language structures. For the pocket size, the amount of useful information within it,and the price of £4.99,you would be foolish not to include it in your Ukrainian language library !

useful to have

If you want to know the basics of Ukrainian language this book is very helpful

Está escrito la forma en la que se pronuncia y la forma en la que se escribe. Creo que es un libro útil, aunque no reemplaza a un curso de Ucraniano

Haven't read it yet. Arrived early. Thanks!

Un outil indispensable pour toute personne souhaitant se rendre en Ukraine, en anglais mais contenant absolument tout pour s'en sortir là-bas. A recommander comme premier achat avant d'entreprendre un voyage dans ce beau pays.

Liten bok som rymmer mycket information och får plats i fickan. Många användbara ord och fraser, organiserade i olika teman som gör det lätt att hitta.
