Very good and durable replacement foam speaker baffle/cover. Keeps dust and water from damaging door speakers and contains the sound from dispersing into door cavity. The difference in sound quality was noticeable from not having any baffles before and then after installation.

These are straight bad arse. I am tickled that for less then $50 I was able to install these on 5 speakers in my Tahoe. I took out the Bose speakers (I know it sounds like a stupid move), but I swapped them for coaxial speakers of a much higher quality and the same ohms. I installed these Boom Mats after seeing them at the auto zone and WOW, what a difference. I actually uninstalled these baffles just to see how much a difference they actually made and again, WOW. The speakers sound more faint and a good bit less base without these baffles. The key is all in how well you install them. Order black silicone in a tube, this is necessary as you need to pierce the side or bottom of this baffle in order to route the speaker wires thru the baffle. Once they are thru, take the black or clear silicone and pack it around the base of the wire to reseal the hole the wire made. LET THE SILCONE DRY before you try out your system. I let it sit over night just to ensure the silicone was super dry as I was not trying pull door panels off again and reseal the holes. It is critical the baffle says sealed and is air tight. There are a few installation videos on YouTube, spend 30 minutes reviewing them to get familiar with how to install them. If you do the install wrong it will not sound like anything special. This is going to be a mixed review because I’m not really sure what to say. I installed these on one set of speakers, a cheaper set, and it accentuated the sound. Made it produce better low frequencies, just made the speaker sound like it was worth much more, I was very impressed. On the other hand. I ALSO installed these on a set of expensive speakers that sounded amazing right off the bat. My mind set was “wow! If these sound baffles could make that cheap speaker sound good, imagine what they will do for these”. Yeah well they made them sound worse then the cheap speakers without the baffle. Absolutely no mod or lower range, just straight high frequencies. This MIGHT have to do with my application though. The cheap speakers were 5.25’s located in the kick panel with a very holo area behind it. The expensive high quality speakers are 4 inch speakers in a very small awkwardly shaped area that the seatbelt actually runs through. So like I said. Mixed review, worked very well in one case, worked absolutely terrible in another. They’re cheap enough that I can say just get them if that’s your plan. If they don’t work out hold onto them because you never know. But don’t be surprised if you get opposite results then what you’re expecting. Very interested in how they’ll preform when I replace the kick panel speakers to the same brand expensive speakers. Maybe I’ll post a comparison video and change up my review.

If you’re wanting to get better sound from your speakers you need to use these. They help to harness the stray output of your speakers that is lost to open air space behind them.

I decided to give these a shot based on some positive reviews, figuring for the price it was a decent test. I evaluated my component speakers with no boom mat, boom mat unmodified, and with a large hole cut in it. In both cases, mid bass was suffocated compared to open back, losing especially lower midbass. I would say that there were some positive gains in the mids, but they were far outweighed by the lack of midbass. Since midbass was my primary area in need of improvement, this was a no go for me. I think it's worth noting that my doors already have dynamat-type deadener, so it's possible that these could be a decent option at a lower cost/ease of installation than dynamat. But they certainly don't enhance the lower end even with huge bass ports cut in them.

Worked great! Cut the bottom out to let the speakers breath and use the door cavity to reverberate. Lessened the rattle and increased low response. Also protected from any moisture that could find its way down to the speaker.

Installed these as part of an overall upgrade to my TJ 99 sound bar, worked well to reduce the vibrations in the sound bar and provide more depth to the sound and improve the overall sound

Excelente ayuda a la bocina a estar protegida y ademas le mejora la calidad y nitidez. No es para quien tiene activo l bocina con bajo ya que al no poder respidar no tiene bajo pero si tienes un sistema completo de audio con un subwoofer veras la mejora inmediata que le da a tus bocinas!! Recomendable ampliamente!!!
