It didn’t come with the Media disc and drivers.
I have rated 3 stars for this product because although the BD discs arrived the media disc didn’t and presumably has drivers and/or an app for decoding blue ray discs. The Media 10 disc is shown with the product on the amazon web site but all Amazon can seem to do is tell me its a third party product and if i don’t want it then send it back but they can’t send me the Media disc. This doesn’t help me and if I exchange it for another burner it too is likely to arrive without the media disc.It’s a pity customer services can’t just obtain a few of these discs from the supplier and send them out with the burners!It now seems I will have to purchase some blue ray software separately to do the job if I wont to use the blue ray technology.

I RETURNED THIS DRIVE BECAUSE IT WOULD ONLY WRITE AT ONE SPEED ON THE BDR VERBATIM ,THERE WAS NO FIRMWARE UPDATE FROM LG AND THEY DID'NT SEEM INTERESTED ,VERBATIM SUPPORT WHERE VERY GOOD IN TRYING TO GET THERE MEDIA TO WORK BY REPLACING THE DISKS FREE OF CHARGE BUT NOT GIVING ANY INSIGHT TO WHY THEIR PRODUCTS WONT WORK IN LG DRIVES

Great product but buy Burner only. Other deals are poor value
Works great and easy to install. Beware that the deal which includes 1Pk of discs is only one disc. So you pay an extra £16 for 1 disc plus you get the cables and screws. If you are replacing your PC's existing CD or DVD writer, you will not need cables or screws, so just buy the burner only.

Looks OK, but could do better.
The unit came much as you would expect it to and seems to operate nicely. The lost star is down to it's presentation really. Please bear in mind this is an LG product from branded reputable manufacturer. It came in a plain white box, with no livery to be seen. The contents of the box looks legitimate but there is no installation guide. I installed mine using the normal process and initially it didn't work, I subsequently used another PC to read the disk shipped with it to find badly scanned copies of the documentation on the disk. As I say, I think it's genuine I don't think this is a fake. However, LG really need to up their game with regard to reassuring customers of the prestige of their purchase! The unit came up and worked nicely when the system was forcibly rebooted.
