JETech Matte Screen Protector for MacBook Pro 13" & Air 13", 2-Pack

I purchased this in the hope it would allow me to work outside when the weather permits. Usually this is difficult due to reflections and glare on the MacBook screen. The JETech significantly reduces reflections and works better than I expected, given its cost. Significantly cheaper than buying a new MacBook with Nano texture screen and much better than an alternative magnetic product I tried (costing four times this).The screen comes supplied with various cleaning cloths which I DID NOT USE. It is recommended to clean a MacBook screen with a slightly damp microfibre cloth. It wasn't too difficult to apply the protector. I still have a spare should this one degrade.Overall, one happy customer.

Immediately, wow! I have the 13.3 inch Pro. I wish I took a before picture because the difference is amazing. The fit is perfect, it adheres well, and the glare is gone!The only thing I would suggest is using your own microfiber cloth. The orange cloth provided leaves lint on the screen which created bubbles on my first application. But since this is a 2 pack, I took it off and placed the second one. So I essentially used the first one as a dust sticker lol. With any screen protector, if there’s no dust then there is no bubbles.

I ordered this screen protector as it is really hard to find a screen protector to fit older MacBooks that aren’t privacy screens. I wanted something to reduce glare as I watch a lot of tv shows and find it distracting seeing my reflection in the screen 😅Overall the screen protector is ok, the sizing/cut outs are good and the anti-glare aspect works well. However, I agree with other reviewers that the clarity/colour saturation is reduced. As you can see in the images there is almost a grainy appearance to the screen - it is what I would imagine the ‘paper feel’ screen protectors for iPads looks like.The reason I am so disappointed with this screen protector is the application. I won’t lie I read other reviews talking about how difficult it is to apply but I just assumed they weren’t following the instructions 😂But no! This is awful to apply, because it is a large screen protector it is very difficult to line up correctly without one part bending and sticking itself down. I followed the instructions but still had to remove the first protector and use the second one which was a waste of money 😑Even after using the second one there are still a number of bubbles because if you have to lift it even slightly bits of dust fly underneath it. This product could really do with a plastic guide similar to what you get with some phone screen protectors.The absolute worst part of this was the wipes provided for removing dirt. Not only did they leave a residue which was difficult to remove with the cloth they actually caused the rubber seal around my MacBook screen to start disintegrating!!! You can see the wipe and cloth are covered in black and there were bits of rubber all over my desk 😭Never have I had this issue before and I have used screen cleaning wipes/other screen protectors in the past. I’m actually quite worried as when I looked up what the purpose of the rubber gasket is it said it’s to prevent dust entering the MacBook when it is closed but also helps keep the screen secure!!I would have had no issue paying more for a better screen protector but sadly there aren’t many options, I had hoped despite this product being on the cheaper side it would still be useful.If it had only slightly reduced the clarity I could have accepted that but the fact it has actually caused damage to my laptop that cost more than £1000 is ridiculous!!! I would not recommend purchasing this 😔

Compared to the average budget anti-glare screen protector, the JETech seems to perform better in terms of glare reduction while preserving image quality. For this review, I have tested it under multiple lighting conditions, both indoors and outdoors and found that it can help in some conditions while make things worse in others. Reflections were tested with direct light (the light source directly shining on the screen and reflecting into my eyes) and ambient light (light bounced off environmental objects like walls or trees onto the screen and reflecting into my eyes).Starting with dim indoors conditions - compared to a glossy screen, the screen protector effectively diffuses direct light reflections. While the overall intensity of the reflection is much lower, it does become spread over a larger surface area than being concentrated on a glossy screen. When the screen is on, the reflection is nearly invisible and I can see the screen contents clearly whereas on a glossy screen I can see the shape of the reflection. Note that the overall contrast of the screen is slightly reduced.In a bright room, image quality is generally good when viewing the screen head-on. Colour uniformity is slightly reduced on bright images, where a subtle grainy pattern can be seen if I look close enough. The edges of text appear softer but the text is still clearly legible. At a slight angle, contrast begins to taper off, and dark areas of the screen won't be as dark as without a screen protector. Shining a bright light directly at the screen, the reflection is once again spread over a larger area, however text remains legible.It's only when in extremely bright outdoors conditions does the screen protector start to struggle. On a bright sunny day outside, the sun shining directly on the screen will cause the entire area to become washed out and impossible to read even with the screen on maximum brightness. Note that even without this screen protector, a glossy or official nano-texture screen will still be illegible under the same extreme lighting conditions.With bright ambient outdoors lighting however, the screen protector does manage to make the screen readable but only barely. A glossy screen might actually be better in this case.Beyond that, the installation process is rather tricky. The most important thing is to thoroughly clean the screen before application to avoid bubbles, however even with a perfectly clean display bubbling is almost impossible to avoid. I found that a useful trick is to find the largest bubble and push it around with a card so that it touches and merges with the smaller bubbles around the screen protector, then push it out of the edge.Also bear in mind that an anti-glare screen protector will never be the same quality or perfectly replace a nano-texture display. This is because there is an interface between the screen glass and the film which allows light to refract and cause some distortion whereas a nano-texture is etched directly on the glass material and mitigates this issue.In terms of image quality, it's better than most other matte protectors I've used but if I look really closely it still reduces the colour saturation and contrast a little. It won't be an issue for the everyday user, but if you're a professional photo or video editor this will interfere with your work. So please bear that in mind. All-in-all, I'd recommend it if you use your laptop in in doors environments like an office most of the time, and not outdoors in extremely bright conditions.

I easily applied it on the screen on my own without any bubbles left. I like this screen protector didn’t change the colour quality and thin enough that not making problem while closing my laptop.

I've installed many laptop, mobile , & camera screen protectors, but this left bubbles all on one side.Followed instructions, no dust spots but it bubbled on half the screen and none on the other half.This was put on a 13" MacBook Pro, I've done 15", 16" older 13", iPads, mobiles and not had this kind of finish since the very early days of protectors. When screen is off & black it really shows, when on can't really see.I would not recommend based on my install.There are two in the packet, I've only used one, may try the other if the bubbles annoy me to much and update this review.

Great product, comes with a squeegee which helped in installation. It is anti-fingerprint as advertised and works great.It also mitigates reflections like the nano-texture displays, except this is much cheaper compared to what apple charges.Only down side are the little bubbles, I was very careful and followed the instructions but I still have a few air bubbles. Its not a problem since you cant see them at all when the screen is on.
