KidKraft 17850 Waterfall Mountain Train Set and Table

Wow, this is sooo cool! I got it for a great price (on special offer) and it was well worth the money! Its sturdy once you've put it together (my nephew walks on it to get to the other side and he's 2!), there are 3 plastic drawers that slide underneath to fit all the bits in, the train track is well made with a bridge and 'tunnel' and the vehicles are simple but effective. It comes with a train with 3 carriages held together magnetically (each carriage has a coloured 'cargo' that fits on top), a 'plane (which has a short runway), a helicopter (with a wooden landing tower), a crane (with windey string and hook for 'cargo'), a police car, fire engine, and ambulance (all made of wood with wheels which also go on the train track). It also comes with a little wooden boat, and 6 wooden cut people which include a policeman and a mechanic! There are 2 little 'Gas' station fronts (Pfft - I'm English :) ) which come in wooden bits so you can build them up easily (which also means they come apart easily), some wooden trees and bushes, as well as road signs, bollards, traffic lights and barriers which are plastic. The table itself has grass and water and shrubs printed on it. It was hard work to build up the train track, and it doesn't fit exactly to the road (printed on the table), but it's not fixed down anyway so it moves around. This allows for changing of the track so its not a negative thing. All in all its a fantastic toy and should last years as other things/imagination come into play, and it can be as tidy as you want as all the above fit into the trays underneath. Its quite large tho, and you need room around it to get to it all. Brilliant toy.

My three children absolutely love this train table by Kidkraft. We generally lean towards their products due to durability and overall high standards. This table keeps my crew entertained throughout the day and is good to have indoors when the weather is not so great. We've owned the table for two weeks and though happy with the product, I am not impressed with the trains or the additional pieces. For one, the trains have all come apart (base and all) while my kids were in the midst of playing. The only pieces that stayed intact were the firetruck, police car, helicopter, and airplane. The additional pieces are cheaply made. The crane is not sturdy and topples off the table often. Just today, the firehouse came apart. Luckily, over the years I have been investing in the Thomas the Tank Engine Trains, which have been a lifesaver. As an added bonus, the Thomas tracks are compatible with the ones that came with the Mountain Train Table. I think overall, you can 't beat the price, which is quite reasonable for the size and quality of this table. Definitely look into investing in higher quality trains if you want to make your train table worthwhile.

I bought this as my son's main xmas present who is four. It came two days after I ordered it and the delivery was great. I bought it well before Xmas and after reading more recent reviews was concerned that I would open it and find bits missing which would have been very disappointing. I needn't have worried, although very time consuming to put up (around 2 hours in total) it is made of good quality material and all pieces were in place. The only tricky part was the track where although the instructions were good I still managed to get a little stuck! Overall though I am very pleased with it, lots of bits and pieces to go with it, I. E airport runway, petrol station, crane etc. I also bought some battery operated brio trains to go with it and they work fine on the track they got and the larger one does fall off now and again. I'm not disappointed with this toy and even better there is storage underneath! My son loves it which is the main thing! Really glad I bought it!

Nanny brought this for our sons second birthday, we've not set all of the train set up as yet because my husband wants to do it and he's away with work for another week, but storage is fantastic, you get so much for your money and just the table is fantastic for running cars on and all so far seems very durable and was easy to assemble. All in all very pleased with it and will be central feature once we have the playroom sorted because it is very big, but fits in our living room next to coffee table for now!

Wow..wow..wow..the reaction of a 3 year old..when Father Christmas delivered this. The excitement of every piece he opened, from the fire engine, police car & crane all wrapped up to be unwrapped, to the final creation. Our families little one, became so disappointed he had to pack up his Brio each evening, that we came up with this idea so he could have his train track up all the time. This magic little one, uses his wonderful imagination and his love for all things with engines..at 3 he was helping to put this together and working out the problems the adults ( put on so he could help), 'No Daddy it goes like this' as they put the crane together & Mummy put the main part up..so a family effort. This young man could be an engineer of the future, designing & building trains..so the investment is worth every penny. Brilliant. Only one tiny critism so much plastic used in internal wrapping..could the company move to cardboard..I want the planet here for this little one to grow up upon!!

We love this! My 2 year old and 7 year old boys are well away with this. There are many different combinations-police, fire, trains, cranes, roads...you name it. The included kit is really good value for money and the drawers are good. Have previously owned a Pin table which was lower quality, more money and rather clunky. This is AWESOME. It was delivered in good time and carefully packaged. The parts feel good quality and there are no triads. The crane is a beauty and the waterfall is brilliant.

This is a sturdy, relatively easy to make train table, that comes with a complete train track, trains and accessories as shown in the picture. I have two reservations about this product, however. The first is the fact that the trains themselves seem flimsy, and the train track does not sit together perfectly - there are small gaps between the pieces when they are put together, and for the price this was, I would have expected a more perfect fit of the track. The second reservation I have, which I accept is partly our fault, is that it is not water-resistant. My youngest son spilt some water on the table, and when we went to wipe it away, we discovered it was not wipe clean, and the water had seeped through the veneer. There are now water marks on a part of the set. Again, for the price this was, I wouldn't have expected this to happen. Overall it is a decent set, a good size, I just feel if it had a couple of small tweaks it would be perfect.

We bought this on sale for £120 on Amazon for Christmas present for 2.5 year old boy , it was a huge success. There are lots of different parts to play with and I think it's good value when you look at all the train tracks, accessories and quality of the build. I did look at others that were a little cheaper but really pleased I went with this one. Only point to note is double check the size, it's quite large which makes it great for kids but might be a bit of a squeeze if it's for a small bedroom.

Barnen älskar leka med Brio tåg och lekbordet är jättebra på yta, ger bra utrymme till tågbana samt olika sätt att bygga tågbana på. Enkel att montera upp och stabil, stark konstruktion. Enda problem vi hade var att tyda Brio tågbana ritning som felar montering i berg tunneln för man kan inte se vilka tågräls ska gå igenom, men till sist vi löste det. Rekommenderar verkligen denna lekbord till alla. Barnen älskar den

Ok so is this the best train set money can buy? No. It's cheap. Cheap as in value... Not in quality. If you've ever used a kids train set, none of them stay on the tracks. I'm impressed with the amount of things for the kids to play with for the price point. The bins don't easily come in and out ... But who cares.. they are a bonus and don't even need to be included. Thanks for the extra storage bins.. I bet without them you'd buy it anyway. If you want to glue all the track together... Do it.. if you don't... Don't. It's a cheap train set with tons of fun for kids to play with... Go buy a more expensive kit if you want better. I had to glue the waterfall because it snapped but once again... Who cares. The kids don't.

Table en bois avec petit train avion bateau très ludique et très attrayant pour les enfants .Montage très facile .

da gab es große augen an heiligabend...die freude war riesig und unsere kleine ist hellaufbegeistert...zum aufbau:das gestell war kein problem, man brauchte nur einen schraubenzieher..das knifflige und das gibt von mir einen punkt abzug..man musste die häuser und den kran selbst zusammen bauen, das war eine kleine fummelei..hätte gedacht, das das alles schon komplett zusammen gebaut ist..naja, als der tisch dann fertig dekoriert vor unseren augen stand, haben wir feuchte augen bekommen, weil es echt so toll aussieht, wie auf dem bild..klasse sind auch die durchgezogenen schienen unter dem tisch, auf denen die drei kisten kisten platzsparend drunter geschoben werden können, und wirklich alle teile in sich aufnehmen können...FAZIT: ein spielzeug, was zwar nicht klein ist, aber so viele spielwelten in sich vereint und es gibt so viel zu entdecken und erleben und wenn man mal einen basteltisch braucht, dann kann man den tisch auch abräumen und anderweitig nutzen..
