Pool leaves met their match!
The media could not be loaded. This little pool cleaner is exactly what I needed to clean the bottom of our above ground pool. Easy to set up and fits perfectly in a standard pool pole. It takes a minute to figure out how deep you have to hold it to make the right vortex to pull debris in, but once you get it it does exactly what it was intended to do. Cleaning the bottom of the pool was easy and very effective after about 5 min of pushing it around I had a whole bag full of grass and debris. I highly recommend it for cleaning up large amounts of leaves and grass in a hurry. It would have been great if the filter bag could catch algae that gets sucked up and blown out. As long as your pump is running after your done, the stirred up dirt and algae suspended in the water can be cleaned out by your pool pump and filter.

Way Over Priced
Pros:CordlessRechargeableConvenientHigh CapacityCons:ExpensiveNot RechargeableWhat I received in the package:1 x POOL BLASTER Leaf Vac1 x Fork Attachment1 x Filter Bag8 x AA 1.5V Batteries1 x User ManualThis POOL BLASTER Leaf Vac product is something that I am really on the fence about. It is not designed for durability. But it does work. This would have been so much more effective if it had an internal rechargeable battery. Honestly, for the almost $200 asking price .. it should.I don’t have a pool. However, is do have a hot tub and we have issues cleaning the bottom because it doesn’t have cleaner/sweeper option like pools do. We have to either manually try to fishnet out debris or drain it and clean it out. I was hoping this might be a viable solution. As it was made for a pool it is a bit too large for my needs but it does fit under the seats of the tub … sort of. It will get the bulk of debris off the bottom. In assembly, there are two things I noticed. First of course, as mentioned, was the design. The propeller blade that causes the pulling action is exposed at the top and bottom. Easily accessible to children so keep out of their reach. The fork handle that comes with it will only accept a pool pole. I guess that is understandable. The battery compartment is sealed with a silicone flat seal on the inside of the cap and two screws. After installing the batteries I made sure to tighten down the screws with a screw driver as directed. I didn’t have any issues with leakage yet. I checked it the next day and it still operates. This runs off of 8 AA 1.5V batteries. That is just obnoxious to me.There is nothing here that IMO, warrants an almost $200 price tag. Especially since you can get their older product for half the price and the only difference I see in side by side is the color. The mesh bag secures around the mouth of the unit with a drawstring. The bag is okay it should last a few cleanings. But it is not very durable.I appreciate you taking the time to read this. All in all, while it has some design flaws. It does work. It picked up all the debris on the bottom of my tub that it could reach. I guess the question is would I get this again. The answer would be no. I have the other model already that was $100 less. It has work fine for some time and I thought this new model would have some improvements. But it appears to be the exact same product with a new finish and price tag. Hope this information was helpful. [3 Stars]

So close to five stars!
This is an ungainly looking contraption. For the price, it is packaged like something that should cost very little. But it is a great idea-- a device which easily removes the leaf and litter that you get at the bottom of the pool after a storm or when the cover is removed in the spring. Normal pool vacuums clog easily on big debris and lose suction quickly. And you don't want leaves getting stuck in pool plumbing or in the filter. The solution has been manual cleanup with a leaf rake. It takes forever. This is powered by 8 AA batteries. These power a small propeller which creates suction and forces the leaves into a giant mesh bag which is fastened with a draw string over the mouth of the device. A really Jules Verne type of invention. But I just cleaned my pool with it prior to putting the cover on and this is what I found:1) It works. It easily sucks up large and small leaves and blows them into the mesh bag.2) It does not lose power as the bag fills up like regular pool vacs3) The bag is large enough to clean a fairly disgusting 25 x 50 pool4) It maneuvers on tiny wheels which allow you to move it easily around the bottom using a standard pool type pole5) I wonder how long the batteries would last--perhaps one or two cleanings. But the nice thing about disposable batteries (you are warned not to use rechargeables) is that if it dies, you can swap in new ones quickly and continue. And since this is not going to be used as a daily vac, it's Ok.6) This is not meant to catch silt or sand on the bottom, it will pass right through the mesh7) The build quality on this is just fair--more of a really good science project than a consumer item at this point. The bag could use a foam float on the top to keep it from tangling up as you maneuver it around-- I may try to add that in the spring.8) Works great for cleaning the stairs out of the pool and if you work slowly, has enough suction to pull debris out of corners as well. All in all, I am kind of excited about this new type of vacuum. It really serves a purpose that needed to be addressed and will save lots of time. I am concerned about the build quality and think that this could be improved significantly from that point of view.
