Very High gloss slow drying
Great stuff but do your research to make sure you're getting the right stuff for the right job. This gives you a brilliant finish but it's slow drying. Other products may not give you such a good finish but dries faster & harder and may be better for harder warning surfaces. But if you want a brilliant finish and it's not going to take a bashing (walking on) then this is the one to get

Follow the instructions
If you are new to exterior varnishing follow the instructions. When they say at least eight coats, they mean it. If you think you know better then don't waste your money on this product, just go and buy cheap stuff and slap on a coat or two. A year later when you have learned your lesson, buy this stuff and do as they say.I gave this product four stars in 2016 with the intention of going back and changing it depending on how long it lasted. Well I'd give it five now. It lasted five years (I should have sanded and top coated each year as instructed and I would not have had to go down to wood again). It looks great, protects the wood very well, and lasts.

Too early to say on long term quality but found instructions easy to follow. Application to marine ply smooth & resulted in good looking gloss finish to enhance the grain.

Beautiful Marine Varnish
Fantastic results when used with thinners, take your time and prepare wood before applying (not too smooth) follow instruction and have plenty of different grades of sandpaper.

The best there is
I have over the years used so called varnish from my local out of town, the one with the big orange sign.This varnish was like water and lucky to last a winter, which was a bind.On a visit to Greenwich I visited the Cutty Sark and the timber work there was like a mirror with a high deep gloss. This got me hunting and I found Epifanes Clear Varnish in a local boat yard. Yes it is more expensive but what a difference.From a drab patio door and windows to one that I am now proud of.Yes make the effort and give it a try. My best DIY find for years.

Shiny and hard
Very nice to use, dries quickly (overnight @ 10-15 degrees C). Lovely gloss finish.

This varnish is slightly more expensive than the more famous makes but totally worth it. Does a brilliant job!!!
