My autistic son absolutely loves this book. The rhythm, the repetition, and the colourful illustrations really capture his attention. 📖 The story is fun and engaging, with a gentle pace that keeps him calm and focused. 🎨 The artwork is bright and detailed – he loves pointing out all the sea creatures. 💫 We’ve read it so many times it’s become part of our bedtime routine. Highly recommend for young kids, especially those who enjoy structure and soothing storytelling.

A good story/poem. Fab author, she is a childhood staple in my family, we have many of her books.

Great book! Bright, colourful, bold. We love a board book as our youngest can easily open the pages too. Highly recommend all of the Julia Donaldson books.

Book of the TV show, never saw it until now, got it recorded now, the book and the toy we bought on Vinted will make a great story time. Lovely colours, well printed and much loved.

A bit too repetitive for our little ones. They lost interest quite quickly and prefer other books. Tried it as its the Gruffalo author but definitely not to the same engagement level. Still fun, but not the showcase book

A great story for small children.

We seem to be slowly working our way through Julia Donaldson's back catalogue and Tiddler was a recent addition to our collection. This is another collaboration between Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler (think The Gruffalo, A Squash and a Squeeze etc) but set underwater which meant that it has a whole new look to it. Tiddler is a tiny fish with an overactive imagination who shares his stories with his friends. One of them, Johnny Dory, tells the stories to others and, as a result, Tiddler's stories spread throughout the ocean. When Tiddler gets lost can he follow his own story's trail to get back home? This is a great book to read aloud with your children with Donaldson's typical rythmic text making it easy for them to learn the text themselves and fill in the phrases, if I leave gaps for them. Axel Scheffler always delivers colourful engaging illustrations and this is no exception. We always love trying to spot characters from other books in the background. Can you see the Gruffalo fish. Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler is not an award winning combination for nothing, we love our collection.

Love this book and the author, we can’t get enough!

This is my daughters all time favourite book she’s only two but has now read it with me so many times she knows it by heart, I pretty much have to read it every night. Beautifully illustrated and such a lovely story I can really recommend it to anyone Also look out for the hidden gruffalo

Excellent story. My 7 and 5 year old grandsons love it and want to hear it again and again.

My 2 year old daughter loves this and wants to read it every night. We have most of Julia Donaldson's books and this is definitely her favourite. Previous reviewers have said that the story isn't quite as good as The Gruffalo or others but the variety of pictures is greater which is why my toddler seems to like this one the most. She likes naming or laughing at all the different fish.
