ETC Security Skewers
Really satisfied with the skewer set! The price is perfect (much better than pinhead or other costly alternatives) and the skewers fit nicely, and look great. Obviously, the main reason for the purchase was the security this skewer set would offer. Whilst it may not be completely theft-proof, I feel having these is a far better option than having quick-release skewers. It's always best to leave your bike in a sensible place, but these give you added security. Theives would be deterred from removing wheels with a security set, compared to removing wheels from bikes with quick-release skewers. Plus, the side that tightens with the special tool has an revolving outer case. This makes it difficult for any thief to grip the security side with tools such as pliers. With this, it may have been better for the nut on the opposite side to lock into place, enhancing the skewers resistance to pliers. But these skewers still do a good job, especially for the price. Another nice feature of the set is that the tool has a bolt running through it that screws into the security nut. This allows you to tighten or loosen the skewers quickly without the possibility of the tools falling on the floor (like an Allen key or spanner). Overall, this is a nice little set for a very reasonable price. The over-all quality seems very satisfactory too.

13.5cm & 10cm spindles. 3cm seat post bolt.
These are great value replacement spindle skewers that appear well designed and manufactured.I broke a quick-release ( = quick-theft) spindle whilst replacing the wheel after changing the rear tube on my Kona Dew City hybrid commuter.Rather than buying a q-r replacement I thought that something offering a deterant to the opportunist wheel-thief might be a good idea.Couldn't find clear measurements but surmised from other reviews that these would probably do the job and they do.Length of wheel spindles (measurement of length between nuts once fitted) is 10cm front and 13.5cm rear. I gather these are fairly universal in terms of fitting most bikes but I'd have liked to have known this before purchase for peace of mind. The seat post bolt does not seem to be so universally fitting. It's certainly no use for my Kona which needs one that's less fat. The between-nuts length is 3cm.I'm a bit puzzled by the design of the penta-key in that it has a knurled threaded pin that screws through the key shaft, projecting through the pentagonal bit (see photo). The thread only grips the key shaft, not the penta-bit. For the life of me I cannot figure out its use - can anyone enlighten me?One star lost for only two of the three skewers being useful to me. Still good value though.

It does the job perfectly, easy to install, universal size
Great product!Installed all 3 of them in less than 3 minutes, they feel really safe and sturdy.Very happy with this purchase, and price is ridiculous!Quick release = quick theft

Spot the difference?
Product is acceptable, but buying two from Amazon and one has an element missing is totally unacceptable.

Not necessarily the best quality but does it's intended job
Not necessarily the best quality but does it's intended job, replacing the QR skewers on my front and rear wheels. The seatpost skewer did not fit my particular ncx suspension seatpost but the item was purchased for the wheels. This would definitely help in keeping the wheels secure parked in public places although obviously would not be up to much with a thief intent on removing the bike, never mind the wheels. All in all I would recommend this item. At just over £10 they may not seem cheap but as indicated earlier they do their intended purpose.

Look nice on the bike - just remember to take the tool with you
I love these skewers. If you want to take your wheel off you will need the 5-sided "hex" key. I bought puncture-proof tyres, and then these skewers - it fits together. I think it adds a bit of security to the bike. And I like the looks. I didn't use the small one for the saddle clamp - I just used a different type of non-quick release clamp. Otherwise - recommended.

Its been a year and haven't got my seat or wheels stolen yet
I have had this for a year now and no-one has attempted to steal my seat and wheels yet, I bought these after my original saddle and post were stolen and was devastated. I have seen bikes next to me have their seat removed, while no-one can yet figure out how to steal mine, I suspect someone has tried to put allen keys, but they will not work on this one, I have it on their so tight aswell because you don't want to leave it to chance incase someone figures a way in, great product, has served me well so far, I would recommend!
