Thin but a good bag
These bags work for bread and are long, my 13 inch loafs fit with a little room left over, they also fit the standard size homemade loaf that is 4 inches tall. I bake sourdough bread and the loaves are usualy over 2 pounds and very big, these bags hold them. The ties are really nice, much better than the ties that came with the thicker bags I purchased awhile back. The downside is that they are really thin (that is why the 4 star, if they were a little thicker (but not as thick as the other bags I purchased) I would give tham 5 stars. I will purchase them again if I can't find a bag a little thicker. These are a good bag.August 2016I do like these bags and will be ordering them again. They hold the bread I make without a problem. I make very large loaves of bread, a little over 2 pounds that rise 6" - 7" usually as a minum, perhaps because it is a sourdough yeast bread and these bags hold the loaves with room to spare. The bags I had purchased prior did not and I had actually had to trim my loaves to make them fit, that is something no baker likes to do. The bags might be thin but the bread stays fresh. I am the only one that eats homemade bread in my house and the bread will stay fresh for 2 weeks (I'm not exagerating I think it has a lot to do with the sourdough starter and the recipe). The price is right and it makes it nice for me to give bread away to people that like homemade bread. I do recommend them to others. The thinness of this bag should not detour anyone from this bag, after all it is how you secure the open end of the bag that will determine the freshness of your baked goods and the tie that comes with these bags is a very good tie compared to others on the market.I have upgraded my rating to a 5 star from a 4 star after using these bags for almost a year. It is a good product. Easy to use and maintains freshness of the product placed within.

I love these bags!
This is my second order of 100 bags. I bake a lot of bread and regular grocery store storage and freezer bags are just too small for a 1-1/2 lb to 2 lb standard loaf of homemade bread or a baguette or a boule. These bags are large enough to handle them, plus they do come with their own twist ties. When I bake I always make at least 2 loaves, and sometimes four. I'll give 1 or 2 loaves away, and putting them in these bags is so much better than the embarrasment of having to cut a loaf in half and cram it into two different bags. When I freeze the extra loaves, I just double iup the bags, putting the opening of the inside bag into the closed end of the outside bag and tightly closing the openings of both bags. The bags have arrived promptly both times that I ordered them.

Simple product, topical review
Review this? Really? OK, sure. I can respond to Amazon's nag. It's a bag of bags. Good price, good quality. American made and I'll buy again when I run out. (/me looks under the nearest bush for a camera) Yer kidding. Really? Americans invented plastic. I make gluten free bread for friends and family. I tuck them in these now.Somewhere in the huge space that is the USA is someone who goes home to a child who asks what that person does for a living. "I make plastic bags" might answer that parent. "is that good?" asks the child. Well tell your kid "yes." I need them. I won't tell some maudlin story here, but, yes, I need your little pile of bags. It is April 12, 2015 and desperately wish that bags and bread were the headlines, but they are not. Until such change, the rest of us carry on. Good bags, good price. There ya go.

Glad I purchased
Even though they are thinner than I thought. They are the perfect length to accommodate a long loaf baked in my Pullman pan. Unfortunately, since they are so thin I had to use 2 to keep the bread fresh so I will get 50 uses instead of 100. I also like the way they come in a dispenser bag which makes it easy to grab just one without touching the rest--very smart idea!

Better than foil
I make my own bread and use it for breakfast, generally. I needed something to keep the loaf for a few days until I use it up. These bags work well for a few days, and let me freeze an extra loaf. They are also nice for bringing bread as a gift to friends. Just tie a ribbon and a tag around the closure. These fit my usual 2 lb loaves I make in a Pullman pan. They are not air-tight, which is actually better because if moisture accumulates in the bag, it causes the bread to mold quicker because I don't use any preservatives in my bread recipes.

Perfect!
I make homemade bread at least once a week and I needed something other than a zip lock bag to keep it in that doesn't break the bank & is easy to gift bread in. (Homemade bread & jam makes a great gift!)These bags fit all our needs! I was worried they would not be large enough since our bread machine makes short and fat loaves compared to the ones made in a bread pan in an oven, but they were the perfect size! They made our homemade bread look fancy like we had bought artisan bread. The bags weren't thin, and they included a few recipes. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Great Size for All Needs
I volunteer at a food pantry that receives baked goods donations from a well-known restaurant franchise. They bake fresh every day and deposit daily leftovers in large bags . It would violate public health regulations and our certification to allow clients to simply dip into these bags to pick out their desired items. So each baked good has to be re-bagged by gloved volunteers. Many of the bread loaves are very broad (the company uses them for sandwiches as well as selling whole to customers) and the baguettes are very long. Average-sized bread bags did not work for us - we had to cut down the loaves, making them less-desirable to clients. These super-long bags fit loaves of all sizes and allow us to put 3-4 bagels together as well. Great find and we'll be ordering more soon,

The bags are fine, the right size for a proper loaf of homemade bread. The only thing I have to complain about is the price. Why are they so expensive? Shipping also took at least 3 weeks.

One Star
These are nothing special. Price is absurd for the product.
