Essential for large aquariums.
The media could not be loaded. Moved house and had to buy a longer version of the tank python. Wouldn't go without one as they make water changing super easy.Couple of tips, first is we use a pair of old cut of tights stretched over the water out pipe to make sure no fish swim/get sucked in to and secure it on with a hairband. Second tip is if you have a loose substrait is to do the same when filling the tank as the flow back I to the tank with mains water pressure have heavily disturb the substrait and make a mess of your tank. So having something slow down/dissipate the water removes this issue.

If this didn't exist I wouldn't be in the aquarium hobby!
This product quite simply has made my aquarium hobby easy!I simply attach the connector from the 6m (maybe 7m?) hose to my tap (I had to purchase a separate brass adapter), and the vacuum created draws water from the aquarium down the sink. Then to refill water to the aquarium I simply switch the valve position and water goes from the tap to the aquarium - I put in an appropriate water conditioner to the aquarium water during this process and the tap I use allows for the correct temperature. I have been using this for about 2 years and if I had to do the whole manual syphon with a hose and empty buckets thing, I would have packed it in.I have a 200ltr aquarium, so the water change with the python makes it quick and very easy. Good for siphoning the substrate too.I have attached a photo to show that my aquarium is in good condition and the fish are super healthy. I will provide an update with a video of the python in use when I next do a water change.Pros:- long hose- easy set up- quick to drain and return water- shut off valve at nozzle end- nozzle is large and provides visibility of what is being vacuumedCons:- expensive for what it is but definitely worth the money- lack of adapters. The plastic adapter works but is not greatI hope this helps. Happy water changing!

Overpriced game changer
Overpriced for what it is but a game changer for water changes

Love.
This is such a handy contraption. I must say it does indeed seem a bit overpriced, however, finding the appropriate adapter, faucet switch, length of hose, a matching vac hose, and the stop valve to create your own would be such a hassle, and possibly quite expensive as well. There's a super convenient stop switch at the hoover end, as well as one on the sink end, and it's a lifesaver that the hoover ended one is right on hand to either pause hoovering or pause refilling. It's nice that this has been pre-configured, all set and ready to go. I'm pretty sure what you're paying for is the design of this product, not the materials. It's competitors are all in a similar price range as well.I used it for the first time today. I quickly found the correct screw-on adapter for our kitchen faucet, hooked it up and played around with it to figure out what all the bits do, and I was promptly able to begin my water change. So long as your aquarium is higher up than your faucet, this thing has some SERIOUS suction power. It hoovered 14 litres in about 2 minutes. I'll have to remember to turn the tap down so it's slower next time! Refilling was just as simple. I spent most of the time just getting the water temp right coming out of the faucet before flipping the refill switch, and the rest was a breeze. The whole process is pretty quick, especially compared to the bucket method. We have a separate hot water tank for our mixer tap, and the fish are not bothered at all from any hot water tank contaminants, which was one of my concerns with this. Also remember to dechlorinate your tank for the replacement amount BEFORE pumping in the tap water, otherwise your fish my get some exposure to the chlorine coming in. I personally use seachem prime, which takes care of any heavy metals plus other bits too.Over all a great product, well designed and I'm quite happy with it.

It's so easy to work
This product has made my life so much easier. I'd lug 40L buckets back and forth from my 200L aquarium, to the bathroom, come back and repeat the same process a numerous amount of times depending on how much water I decide to change at a time. My back would ache and it really did make cleaning my tank a chore.. Until I was introduced to this product. Wow.It's so easy to work. One end connects to the tap (with my mixer tap i had to remove the faucet from my tap with plyers, and screw in this piece of equipment. Doesn't take a minute but I didn't realise i had to remove a piece of my own tap to connect this for my specific tap. When it's screwed in it's so simple, the syphon end sits in the tank (hook on the side if possible to prevent sucking up any fish! unless you're present and are undertaking gravel cleaning manually).Make sure the piece is firmly in place on the tap to avoid spray and make sure the valve is in the correct position and the end pointing down at the sink is twisted which releases the water for drain mode (see instruction sheet which comes with it). Leave for approx 5 mins depending on size of tank and it's a simple as moving the valve to the other position and there you go, refilling back up with fresh water! Please remember to add your dechlorinator and stress coat or whatever you'd normally use to purify the water as it's coming straight from the tap.I normally add half of the solutions in when half of my fresh water is filling up, then the other half right at the end so it's even.My back no longer hurts and this process is just so much easier and efficient for use. I no longer see changing my tank water as a burden.
