Muck Cart

Absolutely one of the best carts out there. The instructions are great and it came with the tools for assembly. The most difficult part was assembly of the tires and required thinking outside the box since my arm reach didn’t allow me to assemble to the frame without having another person help hold one wheel. It’s a wonderful cart to also use for moving other items besides a muck bucket. I like that it folds up especially. It’s pretty heavy duty and well worth the cost.

Assembly is required, but it’s not hard to do by yourself. I put the cart together by myself in under a half hour. I didn’t get this for a muck bucket, but for the trash can that we have in the back yard for picking up dog poop. The trash can can get heavy and pulling out the bag and dragging it to the street for pickup sometimes causes tears in the bag. This cart works wonderfully for my purposes. The handle is tall enough to pull the cart with the trash can loaded up and there are no more messes to clean up. I also don’t have a chance to throw out my back lifting it. This is a great and sturdy cart and I’m looking forward to using it over the years.

I am very happy with this cart. I use it for gardening, to haul a 70-qt muck tub full of dirt or mulch or a 32 gal trash can full of yard waste around a steep yard with some steps. A wheelbarrow just won't work. It is also very handy to be able to remove the muck tub or trash can to transfer stuff. You can't dump it like a wheelbarrow, you have to remove the tub/can and then dump that, but that's not a problem me. The cart is well-designed and well-constructed with solid quality parts. The wheels in particular have good bearings and tires. It's very stable. The kickstand is easy to manipulate with your foot. The cart was packed well. with all the metal parts in plastic sleeves to preserve the finish. Assembly was easy except for two problems. First, one of the nuts holding the wheels on was missing the nylon lock insert. This was easily replaced at the local hardware store. Second, the instructions don't supply an important piece of information until after you need it. This applies to rev 8 of the instructions, dated 3/12/10. Step 1 tells you to attach the frame base to the handle supports. The left and right handle supports are marked with L and R stickers but the frame base did not have any orientation information on it and the drawing doesn't help. The left and right link assemblies are already attached to the frame base but it wasn't obvious which was which which. The side view drawing for Step 1 omits the link assemblies for clarity. The Parts List doesn't show the right link assembly at all so you can't compare it to the left for clues. Here's the key. The drawing for Step 2 shows the link assemblies in the correct orientation. So for Step 1, orient the frame base so that the link assemblies have the tab in front when vertical. Then they will collapse forward when lowering the hoop. The cart came with stamped metal wrenches but assembly worked much better with a socket wrench and a crescent wrench.

Perfect item for any barn or gardening. Very sturdy and made well.

I just received my Little Giant muck cart today so this review is mainly my experience with assembly and overall impression of the quality of the cart. My box was emblazoned with a banner promising easier assembly. Apparently a portion of the cart, namely the hoop and base, were meant to be shipped already bolted together via the hoop supports and thus the instructions for pairing these two pieces were omitted from the assembly guide. Unfortunately, none of the parts in my box were preassembled. I was a tad annoyed as this section is the one which seems to have a bit of a design flaw. The hoop supports require a spacer to clear the frame when the hoop is lowered and it is pretty obvious where the spacer is meant to fit. If it is installed with the maximum spacing distance towards the frame the nut sits directly against the hoop support arm and will not allow it to smoothly turn. With the minimum spacing distance toward the frame the support sits on the spacer itself and the nut tightens against the spacer allowing the support assembly to freely turn. Unfortunately, the spacers I received are insufficient to allow the supports to clear the frame in either orientation. I finally added a couple of my own washers and now it works without a problem. I did scratch the paint a few times testing my progress but heck, it's a muck cart not a parade float. The cart itself seems sturdy, well balanced and should last a long time with care. The kickstand is held up or down by a plastic part which relies on a friction fit to move the metal rod into grooves. This will probably get loose as the plastic ages so that might be an issue. One tire was flat upon arrival so I'm hoping its not a leaker. Other than the above its a fab little cart and I can see using for a variety of tasks.

I needed a way to pull a 32/33 gallon trash can around my yard (instead of carrying it, as it gets heavy once full). I was hesitant to get it, because I was concerned my trash can might not fit. But it did, and what a difference it makes in helping with yard work! My plastic trash can dimensions are 17" at the base, 22" at the top rim, and is 27.5" tall. It fits nicely inside the basket area, and is very easy to pull to each tree and plant in my yard. The kickstand is easy to operate, and the trashcan leans slightly to the handle, which helps keeps it steady when loaded. As far as assembly, I read the comments so I expected some challenges. So I took the instruction sheet and studied it, along with the pictures, and found that I was able to get it assembled fairly easily. One thing I did differently than the instructions was to put the kickstand in while assembling the basket; this kept me from having to wrestle with the metal to get it into the bracket, without scratching the frame up. One last thing to consider is if you want to get flat-free tires, I would take one of the tires and the axle to Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply before you mount the provided intertube tires to the cart. That way you won't have to disassemble the cart again, and you can test tires on your original axle to see if they fit well. If you can't find a tire that fits, you may need to create an axle out of stock from Lowes or Home Depot. I am kicking myself for not getting this cart sooner, it has made a huge difference in the amount of lifting I used to do, and the speed I can process yard waste has improved significantly. If you're on the fence like I was, get a trash can that fits and get this cart...your back will thank you!

This has made cleaning out goat barn and hauling items so much easier. I lay 2 50lb bags of feed on it and it works great.

Most guys wives want jewelry for their anniversary. Mine wanted a muck bucket and muck cart. This is very handy to have and well worth the money. It seems to be holding up well and is light weight. It is nice it folds up for going to animal shows and it is very easy to maneuver.

Sturdy and well made. Will certainly last the test of time at the barn and on the circuit.
