One of the most famous Apache leaders to resist westward expansion by settlers was Cochise of the Chiricahua Apache. Cochise was known to his people as A-da-tli-chi, meaning "having the strength of oak”, and lived in the area that is now the northern Mexican region of Sonora, as well as New Mexico and Arizona. Leading the Apache uprising after the Bascom Affair of 1861. In tribute to this tenacious Apache leader, we give you the Cochise Damascus Knife. The combination of camel bone/wood handle and traditional drop point blade w/Raindrop Damascus pattern, gives this Cochise an organic Earthy feel and solid hand. Whether worn on your belt during your next hunting excursion or under glass as a show piece, this Cochise Damascus blade won’t disappoint! In a world where machines make more and more of the things we buy, it is refreshing to find a product as finely finished as this Damascus steel knife and know that it was hand forged, and hand made with the same tools and techniques from centuries ago. The attention to detail, quality and hand-crafted nature of this knife are on par with on artistic creation that belongs on display while its durability, razor sharpness and practicality are more than adequate if intended as a working knife. Please note: Because each knife is hand made from natural materials, there will be some variation in color, Damascus pattern and overall look. The knife you receive will have the same attention to quality and detail as the one pictured but may differ slightly in appearance. It looks to be of great quality, but...
I have several knives made of Damascus Steel. The highest quality blade I own is Japanese Damascus, and it is really something special. But what is this knife exactly? The deal seargent claims it to be made of 1095 high carbon steel folded with 15n20 (nickle-alloy steel). So in order to do this review without actually having to test the metal, let's talk about what this knife is and isn't. I am a bit skeptical that this knife is in fact actual Damascus. If I were to bet my life on it, my guess would be that it is an acid-etched stainless steel in the AUS-6 range (but that is the skeptic in me). The part that makes me think that this could actually be Damascus Steel is the back edge of the blade. The jimping on the back edge of the blade is almost impossible to create the etching effect and get the folding lines to match up with the blade lines. If you are going to go to all that trouble to acid etch, then you might as well make actual Damascus instead (giving the customer what they actually paid for). Whether or not this is real Damascus Steel or AUS-6 with an acid-etched design in the blade, the knife is well-made (probably from Pakistan, China, Indonesia or Vietnam if I had to guess). For less than $100 you really can't go wrong with this knife, because it passes my main test for a knife: "if this was the only knife you had, could you bet your life that it would do any job you need it to do within the limits of being the tool it was designed as?"Yes as all the reviewers have previously attested to the fact that this knife comes razor sharp. It's a thick spine, skandy-ground edged knife. This isn't the tool you use to filet a fish with. This is the tool you skin a deer with or to make feather sticks. It seems to carve wood well enough and cut easily through various ropes, cordage or filaments like a hot knife through butter. I don't want to baton wood with this knife, but I have little doubt that this knife can process wood like a champ if that was the only alternative. I never use the knife for striking a ferrouserium rod, and figure if you are down to that as your only option to start a fire, then you deserve your fate for being so ill prepared. I don't smoke but I have at least three different methods for making fire on me virtually every second I'm alive. So to me a knife should only be judged upon its ability to "cut" and "carve". If you need a knife to do more than that, get a "multi-tool", which actually makes for a much better survival "all-in-one" device. This is an ideal "camp knife" or "hunting knife". The blade is only 4 1/4" which is a little on the short side for a so-called "survival knife", but I feel confident that this knife would get you through any situation to which a knife was necessary in order to survive. It looks pretty sure... But this knife can get the job done, and that really is the most important thing to ask of any knife or tool.Like anything in life, you get what you pay for. Because the blade looks to be

Fantastic Blade
I have many knives and am somewhat of a collector. For a long time I have been looking for the perfect blade to carry when hiking and hunting. This knife is top quality, one of the best I have seen. The handle is thin enough to carry concealed. It has full tang and is solid from one end to the other. The Damascus blade combined with wood and the bone handle is amazing. For the money, I can't imagine getting a better knife.

Great looking knife
I received the knife in a timely manner and was really pleased with the way it looked. Very nice looking Damascus blade. The bone and walnut handle looks great together. Nice sturdy knife that's not to big to carry yet big enough to tackle any job. I would highly recommend this knife to anyone.

This knife is completely beautiful. The blade is like a work of art.
Seriously, the blades on these knifes are stunning. The photo doesn't even begin to do it justice. I wish my Dad was still alive... He would LOVE this.
