LineaeffeVigor LN70FD Sea Fishing Reel with 20lb line and spare spool

I have only just started up sea fishing again. So I needed something that would be good and reasonable. I bought due to the reviews and was very surprised how good it was on opening. Even better that it came with the line on which was great. Maybe the only gripe would be that there is to much line on the reel. But that's being picky and I was happy with it.So yesterday on setup which went rather easy and the reel being used all day. It faired very well and I was lucky enough to catch 2 fish on the rod. I had bought another rod along. But I caught on this one and had no problems on landing the fish and was made of ease with the reel.I'm very happy with the reel and if you don't expect to much like me, you will be pleasantly surprised at what a bargain this is.So I would say you can't go wrong for that money and it's a worthy purchase.One very happy novice fisherman.

The real is actually really nice for the price. It's larger than I though it would be and seems to be well made. The product would have gotten 5 stars; however, the line that comes with it really sucks. The 20lb line actually has a breaking strength around 14lbs, which I discovered when setting the drag. Also, the line has a lot of memory, which means it is birdnests a lot. If I do a lot of fishing this season, I am going to replace the line with a proper braid.

I got this reel for under £10 delivered, and I'm pretty impressed with it, it works fine casting 5oz weights and reels in ok. The plastic this thing is made of is pretty strong. Inside when I took it apart for a laugh to see if it had plastic gears and what not, I found that they are all metal and some parts appear to be brass too. It's a pretty simple design the 3 bearings it has are one underneath the spool to let the winder spin freely and one either side of the handle. The chrome effect paint flakes off when it comes into contact with sea water and the friction of the line from casting ( pictured).For £10 though it's a decent bit of kit for a newbie like me or even for a back up possibly.

I have just received my new Vigor reel and I can honestly say I am absolutely gutted !!! Why ? because several weeks ago I purchased rather expensive Penn Surf-blaster 8000 and apart from the massive price difference I would say the build quality isn't that far apart, in-fact I prefer the composite resin construction of the Vigor , easier to maintain...I've been Angling on and off for 35+ years and have always avoided cheap gear but after reading the amazon reviews I thought I would take a chance as I wanted a reel I could leave in the car and not worry about , this fits the bill perfectly...After a good test I will definitely be looking at some of the other Lineaeffe gear...

I purchased a pair of these reels - one for myself and one for my young (7) son, who's getting into fishing. When they arrived it only took a quick examination to determine that they are very low quality items. It is evident that you truly do get what you pay for, and perhaps that was my mistake. Very poor finish, and one was already broken (the anti-reverse did not work) and the other felt like it was about to do the same thing. If you know fishing gear, you will instantly see this for what it is - as put by another buyer "cheap junk". Both were returned to the seller via a recorded service, and I received a refund. I did not however receive recompense for my return shipping - as required by consumer law - because the seller disputed the 'appropriateness' of the return postage. Amazon did nothing to resolve this flagrant breach of the regs. All in all, it was an online buying experience that is mercifully uncommon.

Despite my first order not arriving, (due to the multiple couriers required as I live in the Northern Isles and not in anyway down to the seller) The replacement arrived very quickly and in perfect condition.Yes. the items a little light weight and is has that plastic feel, but it has a nice action. It might not be as sturdy as a metal reel, but for the price what do you expect. A good reel for a fair price, though if there is a niggle, the second spool come without line, but that does give one chance to load what line weight you might want for a back up, Personally I'll be adding some 35lb line as I do a lot of pier fishing.

Cheep price for this reel and it certainly is not the best reel I have used. Have fished in salt water on a number of occasions and the reel is now getting a bit sticky, guess I need to clean and oil it if I am gonna get any further use from it.

The reel is fine. Nothing special but good value for money however.... The line supplied on the reel has to be the worst quality in the world. It kinks, twists, knots up at the drop of a hat and I lost two lots of terminal kit due to the line snagging on the cast before I gave up on it. Hence only 3 stars.
