Product Description Format : LP 180 gram audiophile vinyl / Sleeve : 3mm / Insert / 25th anniversary edition About the Artist The Screaming Trees are considered to be one of the Godfathers of Grunge. Although they were one of the best 'Seattle-bands' of the early nineties, they never achieved the commercial success of bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. Founded in 1985, the band had to wait till 1992 for their biggest success, the release of 'Sweet Oblivion'. The song 'Nearly Lost you' became the Screaming Trees' biggest hit after being featured on the soundtrack of the movie 'Singles'. Lead singer Mark Lanegan started a very successful solo career after the Screaming Trees, working with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Greg Dulli (Afghan Wigs), Isobel Campbell (Belle & Sebastian) and UNKLE. Being out of print for years, this 90's milestone will be finally available again.

My fav album by the Screaming tree's.Was lucky enough to see them live a couple a three times in the 90's, once at a sweaty little intimate gig at The Duchess in Leeds and once at the Reading festival.Nearly lost you is probably their most well known track and it's a belter for sure, it was released for some god awful movie that's name escapes me with a whole bunch of other so called grunge bands from the Subpop , Seattle genre.Great times to be a teen, 16 in 92, saw Nirvana twice L7 twice, Screaming tree's twice, Fugazi, Lunachicks, Seaweed, Mudhoney, Unsane, Helmet, Faith no more, Prong, Fudge tunnel, Mr Bungle, Tool etc I could list bands for days , not to mention pure metal bands like Death, Obituary, Deicide, Napalm death, Sacred Reich, G.W.A.R.Man I'm 45 now, the 90's was THE best for music. Peace

My first encounter with Screaming Trees was 'Dust' which I honestly thought couldn't be topped. How wrong was I?!?Sweet Oblivion is the album I pull out when people try to tell me Nirvana and Pearl Jam were the Seatle grunge band to listen to.Get this album, play it loud and enjoy. Simple as that.

One of my all time favourite albums. I had to replace my worn out tape with a CD at some point in the mid-nineties and I keep coming back to it.Mark Lanegan's vocals are like torn silk, and the music is noisy yet melodic.
