Moleskine Paper Tablet Notebook Digital Smart Notebook Paper Tablet (with lined pages and hardcover, lined, large 13 x 21 cm) black format

I prefer not to take anything into a meeting that suggests that I will be concentrating on taking notes rather than participating, so I have used smartpens for a long time. The voice recording is very good, ideal in fact for a 'darkened room' presentation, assuming permission is granted. It's also handy for departmental and/or Board Meetings where it may be crucial to make sure that everything is recorded.As you would expect from Moleskine, the design principles are spot on. The Ellipse Pen shape takes some getting used to, and the angle of the pen to the paper needs to be optimal as well, especially when starting writing from 'off'. This instant on feature is a good innovation for me, although I find it better to press the pen to the page slightly and wait a beat before writing, otherwise the first letters may get lost. The 'tablet' book design is not for me; it is style over substance, and makes life more difficult, especially as there is no ribbon to keep your place. The size is identical to my ipad Mini, and I would prefer something more pocketable, for example like their notebooks, for goodness' sake! The tiny little books are too small to write steadily on, and the ipad Mini-sized ones are too big to draw out subtly in a meeting.What is impressive is the transfer to phone/tablet/PC software, which is almost instant and generally pretty accurate. The main downside to this is that you have to make up your mind which device is going to be most useful to you, because you can't keep a full record on all of them without shutting them all down except your favourite.It's a big step forward from the Echo smartpens

As a keen moleskin notebook user my husband gave me the set for my birthday. I prefer the larger size note book so purchased this..... I have spent sooooo many hours trying to get this to work with very little success..Seems I am too late to send this back, hopefully my husband can send the set back....Only giving it one star as the review requires one....!DO NOT Waste your money!

I got this as a birthday gift alongside the pen and everything and ordered this other notebook as a backup. I cannot tell you how awesome it is to write in cursive and have it all ready for you in a file, ready for computer transfer.As someone who writes a lot by hand, this has saved me soooo much time. It's not 100% accurate but it's accurate enough to not need more than a few tweaks once the document is on the computer. Which is fine since I have to beta read everything at some point anyway, at which point I make any changes that are needed.The notebook itself is sturdy and pretty slim and I overall love the weight and feel of it, it just feels like a quality item.I purchase one or two of these whenever I catch a discount and I hope they never discontinue them.

This is Moleskine, so the paper is a dream to write on - smooth, no bleed / show through from one side of the page to the other. Lovely.My only quibble, which I think other reviewers have mentioned, is the weird shape - having the notebook shaped like a tablet can make page turning awkward. It would actually be better just as a normal paper notebook shape. Having a ribbon to hold your place would also be good, but I tend to use the elastic strap to mark where I've got to, so not a big issue.

Be aware, this notebook is not reusable like other smart notebook systems, which is not made clear even on the Moleskine website. The notebook and pen come with lots of meaningless words about the wonders of the Moleskine brand but no useful instructions.

Actually although this is the second purchase, I find that I am forced to buy rather than chose to buy - I really don't like the bevelled, protruding pages but this is the only book that I can see works with the pen...if there was other options out there - let me know...

I appreciate that with the pen it does some cool stuff - BUT, why did they need to make it so expensive ?

So far pleased with the quality of the product. Still assessing its use with the pen.
