Fun for me not for thee. Engaging deck I rarely have the heart to subject my playgroup to.
This deck is really cool & has a bunch of essential pieces if you’re looking to build a superfriends planeswalker deck. Oath of Teferi, Chain Veil, Spark double, Deepglow skate, all feel great to slap down on the board. Not to mention Guff does a lot of work! Makes dorks that can block, does damage, draws cards. All from the zone, all great stuff. Worth noting he’s only as good as your board state & can’t help you protect or control the board. So if you don’t have a lot of PWs on your board or can’t protect Guff it’s not worth it to bring him out. Bringing him out of the zone just for him to die before the turn cycle gets back to you is feels bad. But when you have 4 planeswalkers out he becomes amazing, & his draw ability will feed your hand what it needs to snowball your way to a victory. The include choices here are mostly good & you don’t need to spend a ton to make this a competitive deck on most tables. Out of the box it’s stronger than a lot of regular precons (as it should be with the increased CMM price). Although according to people who do deck breakdowns for a living not quite the value of some $40 precons based on reprint value of cards that already existed before this deck was announced. All that said due to the high mana symbol #s on PW & the three color nature of the deck the mana base certainly needs work if you want this deck to flow smoothly in a majority of games (💰🙃💰). Some of the dual lands here are probably going to slow your tempo down considerably (Snarls, temples). Yet remain absolutely necessary if you don’t want to be stuck with a bunch of cards in hand because you don’t have the colored mana to play them. Being mana screwed & not being able to play a planeswalker or creature that would have saved your beautiful board state is big feels bad. So I highly recommend adding planeswalkers that untap your mana permanents (Teferis, Tezzeret, Ral, probably Dack to steal a rock). As well as some more mana rocks that tap for *any* color. Jeweled lotus for example does a lot of work with the above untapper PWs.**Huge note for players that haven’t played PWs before**:YOUR PW WILL BE THE PREFERRED TARGET AT ALL TIMES!If you don’t like the idea of being the center of Argo attention & always having to play intelligent defense on the backfoot against three other players do not buy this deck. From a player psychology standpoint killing a PW that has some stax/mana/boardwipe element that justifies its deck include always seems like a better trade then knocking 4 damage into a players 40 point life pool. The looming threat of you activating emblem abilities makes your PWs a ticking time bomb that can’t be ignored. As a result you have to run a ton of stacks & boardwipes to keep your PWs around which is only fun for you.Despite me enjoying running this deck a bunch, out of all my decks (4 at this point, soon to be 6 😁) this deck is the one I play the least by far! That’s because its strength is also one of its greatest weakness. Sooooo many triggers, choices, counters, & sequencing conundrums to deal with. Choices, triggers, conundrums makes a deck sound super engaging to pilot? If you have the mental energy it certainly is! But all the above makes this deck run INCREDIBLY slow………Turns can take 5-10min+ when your board state starts to expands to 4+ PWs. Even longer when you’re learning how to pilot this deck.If your group is in anyway time limited you cannot run this deck. If your group previously got beat down & controlled into the dust by you running this deck it’s time to switch it up. If your groups previous game went for 2 hours+ you shouldn’t run this deck. You cannot run this deck constantly & expect your playgroup to stay your friend group. I put together 3 decks including this one at about the same time. Out of maybe 35+ games I’ve run in the past few months I’ve only played this deck 5 times for the above reasons. After upgrades especially that’s a lot of card equity & not a lot of fun equity. When I tell my group it’s time for a PW party their accepting affirmational responses often carry a subtle, but noticeable, undercurrent of tentative dread. Make of & value that as you will.PWs are very compelling, but they are comparatively to most other magic experiences very complex to pilot. They involve a ton of boardwipes & stax to survive with (not fun for your play group), & drag out games (not fun for your play group). So while I do recommend this deck on card/fun value, make sure it’s right for BOTH you & your play group. Or like me simply be comfortable with the idea you might only ethically be able to run this bad boy occasionally.

Strong precon
A friend let me borrow his Anikthea deck, and I stomped him with it. I checked the decklist for the precon, and I think that the only card he added was Calix
