Reliable, Gentle, and My Dogs Love It
I’ve been feeding this Purina Pro Plan to my 2 German Shepherds and Australian Cattle Dog for years, and it’s been amazing for all of them. They all have sensitive stomachs, and this is the only food that consistently keeps them feeling great, no digestive issues, healthy weight, and they enjoy eating it.I also love that it’s poultry-free, which is important because my dogs don’t do well with chicken. Finding a high-quality food without poultry can be tough. Their coats are shiny and healthy, and I really believe this formula plays a big part in that.Overall, great value for what you’re getting.

Softer than Ever
I was reluctant to buy this expensive dog food, but we were desperate to tackle some itchy dog and loss of fur issues. She has been scratching and chewing enough to lose fur in small patches. We were hoping it was related to a chicken or beef allergy because this food would be a quick fix. It didn't help right away, and I was ready to just use up the bag and return to a cheaper food. But about three weeks after she started the food, her coat got really dense and super soft. I didn't immediately make the connection to her food, but now I realize the omega 3 in the food is helping her skin and coat tremendously. We ended up determining that her itchiness was related to a pollen allergy, and got her on some meds which helped. She loves the taste. In fact, when I spilled some on the floor of the garage she went around and ate each piece and cleaned up the mess - which is not like her. Her poops are really nice, and not runny. It's a good value for the price, as the bag is huge.

A bit more expensive than some foods, but paying more to maintain my dog's health is worth it.
There are not too many ways for me to comment on this dog food except to say my German Shepherd LOVES it. She spent her first 3-1/2 years as a mama in a puppy mill, but since I adopted her 1-1/2 years ago and put her on this food she has had great health, and her coat has a nice shine to it. I know there are dog foods that are cheaper, but I'd rather spend a little more and ensure that she stays healthy. Also, having it shipped to my door is a lot more convenient than dealing with a large bag at the store.

Excellent for dogs with allergies!
This food is magical!! My 96lb Great Pyrenees mix got a perfect report card at the vet last month and was even complimented on her skin and coat by her veterinarian. She has really bad environmental allergies and is allergic to chicken, so the salmon is perfect for her. We feed the suggested amount on the bag for her size. Her blood panel was even perfect! She's 4, and has only been on this food since she weaned from her mother.

Great food
This food has been a life saver. My dogs had been eating a prescription food for years but they have skin and ear problems so we switch to this food per our Veteranarian. The switch was great know diarrhea or anything with the new food. We did switch slowly and it went great. It is probably half the cost of the prescription food also.

Quality Issues, Sick Dogs
I have two female Aussiedoodles. The vet suggested a sensitive stomach food for one of them because she seemed to have some discomfort after eating, had a poor coat and was shedding excessively. I switched to this food for about 18 months. She seemed to have a more consistent eating habit on this food and improvement in coat but I can't say it helped with shedding. The last couple of months we've noticed both of the dogs have bad breath, smell like rotting beef, and are very gassy. The worst gas! The one with the sensitive stomach has had a couple of really constipated moments. At the same time there was an interruption in our subscription with Amazon and it basically missed a month. We noticed one bag had a different kibble size, slightly smaller. Suspicious of a quality issue, I recently looked at Amazon reviews and saw that many buyers are currently reporting worms, larvae, bugs, and/or mold and illness. We haven't seen bugs in our bags but it's all enough to make us cancel our shipments and look for a different brand (we can't get this locally). Big Corp Purina is obviously having some sort of quality issues and should have issued recalls. Shame on them for not taking any responsibility. I'm sure they've been made aware of it by now. It's sad that vets insist Purina is a good brand because they "have teams of vets" developing their products, but overlook quality issues.
