Important features beat the big brand names
This includes some very important features that separate it from the rest of the big brand name crowd making it the most functional, but there is still room for improvement. (3 months usage at the time of writing)VERY GOOD FEATURES1. With tray removed it easily fits a standard 1L (1000ml/8 Cup) cafetiere. (Good for pots as well)2. Has a setting to keep dispensing until manual stop for large volumes. (Otherwise 100, 200, 300ml options - 300ml will do a single mug)3. Water filter and large 4L tank4. Multiple temperatures (Room Temp, 55, 65, 75, 85, 100 Deg. C)5. Button interaction is easy, individual buttons for each feature (Volume, Temp, OK = Start/Stop)6. Quick and quiet, especially considering its ready to go filtered water. Little bit of time to fill a cafetiere or pot but equivalent to the total time spent using a classic kettle if you timed it, just feels longer. When looking at other products available I was disappointed that they were crucially missing one or more of the above features. These are critical for making this a good, functional product which can replace the classic kettle. Personally, I needed the filter for hard water, I'm very waste conscious (water & energy), and wanted a constant dispense option (point 2 above), so this met a lot of my criteria.ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT0. If you dispense directly into the destination cup for tea, I find it gives a lot of 'scum', so I dispense into a jug, then add to a cup already containing milk and the tea bag. Having to change your tea making technique is a pretty major flaw, only just forgivable as the pros out way the cons for me.1. Aesthetics - can split opinion, girlfriend is not a fan but I like its functionality too much.2. Custom Volumes - I'd really like to be able to set a couple of custom volumes. Fill a cafetiere every morning, so would like to program a 1000ml option and not have to stand and wait to turn it off (or forget a have a massive clean up!)3. "Memory" buttons - something that remembers a temperature and a volume, so can use at a single click, rather than cycling through options. I tend to keep the temperature at 85 and just adjust my volume but would like this to be a bit sleeker with a couple customisable memory buttons, following on from point 2 above for different volumes.4. Layout of tank level viewer doesn't work for where I need to position it in my kitchen as that side is against a wall. An indicator on the font would be nice.In summary, it ticks a lot of boxes functionally but falls just short of perfect.

Conviently good to use but build quality has some issues
Arrived quickly, looks really nice, lots of different settings, holds an enermous 4 litres of water, does a great cup of tea, outside easy to clean,. But there are some small niggling issues as it generates loads of steam even at 85°c so had to move it away from other appliances & that steam often covers the touchscreen. We live in a hard water area so frequently will need to flush it through & open up the underneath drain to get any bits out, but nothing came out so maybe not working correctly! Also the plastic covering lots of it was a nightmare to take off as once you pulled the main bits off it left loads around all the edges as it had been assembled together with the plastic still on to stop it from getting it scratched I presume (which hadn't worked in places as still some scratches) but unfortunately it meant the plastic was caught in the assembled edges & took me hours to get the little bits off of it & inadvertently scratched it doing that, plus I noticed the side & rear panels weren't fitted well, were gappy & had a few small dents, but I managed to push it all back into place.

Decent value for money.
I have had a couple of these things: the Filtrino, the Morphy Richards Aspire that worked for about 10 seconds. I quite like this., I’m not bowled over by it, but it generally does it’s job.Pros: it gets to temperature very quickly, expelling only about 50ml of cool water on first use. It takes a goodly amount of water in its reservoir. The continuous boil function is handy. It is quick and pretty easy to use. It does seriously limit wasted water and electricity especially when *certain people* constantly fill the feckin kettle just to make two small cups of coffee! (I know that I recommend to run it, but I use that water to rinse dishes or for plants, so it’s not wasted)The 55C setting is a godsend for people like me who want to have warm water in the bottom chamber of a stovetop moka pot, or who use a bread machine.Cons: it could do with dispensing a little more water at a time: to fill a 1L teapot, for example, is probably quicker than most traditional electric kettles, but the water has had more time to cool down, so I don’t like it for tea, but it’s fine for cafetiere coffee.Following on fro, that, I’m not convinced the water temps are as hot as they say they are: (Irish/British-style black tea made in the mug with a teabag with this is less satisfying than made with a normal kettle because it doesn’t seem as hot. HOWEVER, the second cup is usually hotter, so my advice is to run 100-200ml first, then make the drink. The screen can be difficult to see in strong sunlight.I wish there was a 95C setting.Nevertheless, I am pretty happy with it, and think it represents decent value for money.

Good until the digital display went
Digital display gone on this so can't actually see what I'm doing and I can't buy water filters for it now. Amazon have stopped selling this now. I rang Amazon customer services and whilst I was in hold I got cut off. The advisor rang me back and accused me of cutting her off. I said I didn't cut you off..I thought you cut me off. She snapped I did not cut you off. I said, listen, I'm going to call back and speak to someone one else. I didn't like the advisors attitude, her English needed work, I could barely understand her and the tone of her voice signalled she really didn't want to be working today!!
