Slow but a good read
The story was quick to start but slowed a bit when it could have been faster in the middle. It was a good continuation but lacking some edge that the others had.The story starts by going backwards to Christmas and the need for funds. Miranda or Randi as she prefers writes an email to the Sinclair fund. Evan Sinclair answers 2 months later. Her reply to his reply starts an email relationship. When they meet in real life they spark off each other. The circumstances bring them together. It is a good read as you catch up with the others but not as good as the others.

Scott (Goodreads Author)20353481Wendy Hodges's reviewFeb 09, 16 · edit it was amazingRead on February 08, 2016I really enjoyed this book, Evan has always come across as arrogant and stand offish in previous stories in this series so it was great to finally find out why. I liked the way the story begins and then builds into more after Evan arrives in Amesport, the way a tentative friendship gradually turns into more. The love and trust Lily shows to Evan from the start. Miranda has lost so much and is feeling a bit lost, but she has always felt the attraction from the first meeting. the feelings are intense between the characters, we get more of the childhood story the abuse suffered. the author also covers a subject that affects a lot of the population in currant times Dyslexia in a very sensitive and I informative way. In such a way that anyone that's not ever had to deal with it can understand just a little bit clearer, how hard it is for those that have it find it to read and see words and numbers . overview of this story is that its been very well written, the subject has been researched and understood and really helps to enhance and add to this book. The abuse side has also been handled well and sensitively giving the reader some understanding of how this type of abuse can affect how the sufferers live and behave. The descriptions of weather/scenery/houses are very clear helping the reader to see it in their head, feel the cold. I loved the way that as the story unfolds the family come together in support, in a way that overall none of them have ever had before from each other. The sudden clarity and understanding of each other and how their growing up the way each did had influenced them all, making them into the adults they are now. J S Scott has covered some very difficult subject matter in this book but in such a way that it really gives an enormous amount to it and the characters she's invented, she has also given the heads up leading us readers into at least 2 more stories from this this one. Well done J I personally cant wait for more

A Touching and HOT story!
OMG I am so glad this book has finally come out!!The Sinclair Series has been one of my favourite reads. Each story is great and each brother is as Hot as its predecessor, but with his own wonderful charm and characteristics. In this book we meet Evan. I loved him instantly. As the head of the family and with a troubled past he has had to put his needs behind the responsibility of running the business and take care of the family. He has used control all his life as a way to make sure everything is running smoothly, he doesn't allow things to be spontaneous as this completely will ruin his composed exterior; that is until he begins interacting via email with a mysterious woman; what she brings out in him comes as a surprise and albeit of an alien feeling, but he finds himself enjoying their friendly banter nevertheless. However, he can't seem to stop comparing her to Miranda who he has met on previous occasions and who seems to not want anything to do with him. For someone who has exert control all his life this is something he can't seem to shake and the feeling doesn't seem well with him.Oh how I love the mystery in this situations!Miranda in turn is lovely, and seems to be in a good place in her life, with a good balance of a good job and great friends plus she is enjoying corresponding with a new one who in spite of her not having met before seems to have connected with her in a way that nobody has before, she only wishes arrogant Evan to be more like her secret pen pal. The guy does something to her every time they have seen each other that she just loves to hate.A chance encounter brings Evan and Miranda once again face to face and sparks fly instantly, however they just haven't realised that they are both so similar and headstrong that if only they will give in a little perhaps they could have a chance to a happily ever after.Author J.S. Scott knows how to bring readers the perfect love story, but still teasing us a plenty in the process! Great dialogues, hot and sexy scenes and a storyline fit for the big screen!.5 TOUCHING STARS.
