I bought this for the value. I needed the tool, and this kit gave me the most connectors along with it for my money. The crimper is well made, easy to use, and the connections have so far been reliable. As a newbie to solar installation, there was one omission that took me many google and Youtube searches to learn: Which connector body, with which contact insert, goes on which cable??? I don't have the crib sheet I created in front of me, so I'm hesitant to document it here. What I remember is that the housings have a small '+' or '-' molded into them. These are assigned from the PANEL's perspective, not the battery or controller's. A MALE body gets a FEMALE contact, and vice-versa. I wish the kit included a pin extractor tool and some extra contact inserts, as I now have some useless mis-assembled connectors. Sigh. The people who sell extension cable sets package them in red/black pairs. Ignore the colors, as each wire gets a + connector on one end, and a - connector on the other. When you're connecting panels in series, you end up connecting red wires to black all the time, there's no way to avoid it.

This is a great product very easy to use and the attachments are very secure. If need to run more panels. I would buy this product, it make it very easy. For myself I would only need the ends as this tool should last a long time.

This is a good and handy kit for small solar projects. Good to keep around if you have a system for repairing cables, or adding panels. Connectors are decent quality and the crimping tool is fine. Exactly as expected, no surprises, which is a very good thing.

Instructions included are extremely basic and essentially worthless. There are no links included with / in the packaging for help or FAQs. There are 3 different size “notches” on the tool, but no info on which to use with what. The tool works and the connectors appear to comply with some MC4 standard. Once assembled, connectors seem solid and they connect to my existing solar installation. I was able to make some good connections and some bad connections - only wasted 1 pin because I used the wrong “notch”. Trial and error... Bottom-line, I was able to assemble an extension cable, but not without YouTube videos to help. I would not have been able to assemble the extension cord with the information provided in this package. I gave this product a 4 because it worked, but it is by no means a complete package - 3.5 tops

Very nice set for the money I thought it would be cheap because of the cost but it crimped very nice and solid plenty of supplies to do the job. Well worth the money

Great price for the amount of pieces you get. I was going to order just a male and female connector from the company I had order my solar panels and cables from and they were going to charge me $1.50 for the connectors, plus $18 shipping! Glad I found these! Now I get 10 sets plus the tools!
