A great HiFi addition at an affordable price.
I bought the vacuum tube version. as I was feeling a bit nostalgic for some good ole tubes. Anyway I have a Roksan Attessa turntable which is perfectly nice but here's the thing. It lacks a grounding point so I have always had a bit of an awful hum coming through the speakers. Strangely when I replaced the expensive phono leads with a really old cheap pair I've had in the bottom of my box of bits since the 80s things improved greatly so therein lies a lesson perhaps. Oh well! back to the plot. Dead easy to set up, the quality feels nice and sturdy and the tubes look lovely glowing away. Aside from that 'wos it sand' like then?' well glad you asked it sounds great with no noticeable drop off in sound quality and the volume control is a nice touch. Being valve dependant you do have to give it a few minutes to warm up. I put on Octave side 1 by the Moody Blues (old hippy me) and was a bit too quick to lower the needle and it sounded quite treble rich until it settled in. Do the valve tubes make it sound any warmer or whatever? Well not that I could notice particularly. After it had settled in it just sounded really lovely with no hum noticeable, so that's a bonus but with every bonus comes a negative and that is it uses another bank of phono inputs on your amplifier. In my case that's a Marantz PM6007. So if you have bunch of stuff going in to your amp then you might have a problem. In my case I have a Denon CD player, my desktop PC, an aux lead into 3.5mm jack for phone/tablet/compact DVD player and a Aiwa microdisc (yes I still have one and it sounds gorgeous) and finally my pride of place old Akai 4000db Reel to Reel. so yes I have to make choices. All this goes through the Denon and out into a pair of Mission 750s and my antique pair of Mission 771s. The stated dimensions are wrong and it actually measures about 160mm by 85mm by 30mm (not including the valves). All in all this is a lovely bit of kit, well made and has improved my listening pleasure. For the price I don't think you can go wrong. I removed it and set my turntable back to original config and did not notice any difference in the sound quality. Finally did I mention it looks really cool!

good value for those with a turntable and receiver that lacks a phono socket, like me
The on/off switch saves mucking about with the plug socket and the sound quality is not bad either

Buzzy poor
Found the product to be very poor with buzzing from this pre amp. I’ve compared it to my other pre amps and have no issues. It’s obviously not as noticeable when music is actually playing but was cheap enough to keep my teenage son happy. The build quality is quite good and connections seem sturdy. Basic pre amp.

It is well made, and if this something you need, at this price it is recommended
I was not sure if I this would suit my requirements and tried to cancel. But glad I was too late. After I had set it up I was very happy with how it fitted in with my system. It is connected to my Sansui SR-525 turntable which has a moving magnet Ortofon pro cartridge/stylus, which is connected to a Skandyna Microsub 2.1 my brother gave me. I use this instead of my Sansui AU-5900 which although it would work needs serviced. The jack on the front is a bonus as it gives me more options too. It is small which is good as there is space on the table for it.

Worked well to amplify my record player so I could use it as the aux in to my sound bar. Good for the price of around 20$.
