Great Everyday Bag with Upgraded Security Systems
I have been wanting this model for a long time and when it went on sale I could not resist. I bought it to replace my BOB, (Bug Out Bag) which is a Kelty Redwing and larger. Everything fits in this new bag but it is snug and I wish it was a little bigger. I do not like to stuff my gear it makes it harder to access. . The pack is great quality and designed well. The stitching is excellent and the shoulder strap and waist belt has more than enough adjustment to make it work for me. The built in security system is well thought out and does offer a higher degree of security and does provide 360 degree protection with the mesh bag that can be used in the bag or left in a hotel room locked to a fixture so someone could not just walk off with it. Someone wrote a negative review about it not being water proof or water resistant. I am not sure what happened to them but I did check to see if water would run off or soak in and I poured some water on it and it ran off like it was on a duck's back. I would not say it is water proof but the material seems to be as water resistant as my Kelty Redwing. I think I will use this bag as my everyday bag and or travel bag which it is the perfect size for and maybe get the Z-28 model or wait till they come out with a Z-32 to replace my Redwing.

Ultimate safe Z-28. Possibly the greatest DUD ever made
Purchased the Z-28 for a month long trip through Europe. Biggest mistake I've ever made in backpacks. It is unbalanced, unwieldy and un anything thing you can think of. I won't even start on what European airport security thinks of allthose cables. It's just a bad idea from start to finish. The Z-28 doesn't even make a decent doorstop.

A mixed review
I am a big fan of Pacsafe products, and I really wish that I could give this five stars. Unfortunately, I just can't. All of the Pacsafe-unique features work as they should. The zipper clips and latch on the shoulder strap are their standard in current production. The shoulder straps are sufficiently padded. The waist belt seems like a poorly executed afterthought, and doesn't provide enough support to be effective.Things really go awry with the overall usage of the space. I use this when travelling internationally for work, and its my primary carry-on for air travel. I need to pack my laptop, various papers, clothes (tshirt, pajama pants, and socks), and the million electronic pieces and parts that go with everything. The main compartment is huge, but most of the usable volume is at the bottom. It's extremely difficult to pack, and more difficult to access everything I need. There is not enough space or design given to holding small items, and things always end up jammed into the bottom of the large compartment. With all of that said, this is still the best option to safeguard your stuff. When travelling on subways and in crowds, I don't have to worry about things being taken, which is the whole point of this bag. Pacsafe should take a look at how Wenger bags use their overall volume, reduce the number of openings, and apply that to this product.

Go with the VentureSafe 32L instead
Overpriced, flawed design. Billed as the "Fort Knox" of backpacks... there's a glaring design flaw. The backpack itself is nearly a regular backpack with an RFID shielding feature for one of the small interior pockets (about passport or possibly wallet sized). The 20L insert appears to be the only actual slashproof portion of the backpack bag (i.e. ignoring the straps), & even that is suspended within the backpack by two flimsy nylon straps, so... you're paying much more for 20L of somewhat-secure space? I don't think so. Returned. On the plus side, the bag does have some nice features. The cable from the 20L insert can be used to secure the bag to a stationary object, by design. The padding is better than the 32L VentureSafe. The RFID shielding, although limited to one small pocket, is nice. The bag itself is fairly inconspicuous. Overall, it's a very nice bag... it just doesn't yet meet my expectations as "the Fort Knox of backpacks". Close, but not quite. My suggestion to Pacsafe is to go back to the drawing board and re-think the design. It could be great with a few minor changes. My recommendation to consumers is to go with the VentureSafe as an alternative for now: Pacsafe Luggage Venturesafe 32l Travel BackpackDon't even consider purchasing this bag until the next version (hopefully not two) is released.

Good idea poorly implemented
This is a very expensive rucksack, the security features are a good deterrent to walk by thieves but the quality of the rucksack is the problem. The material is lightweight, the shoulder straps slid to the side of the padding and the lifting handle is not at all robust. This could be and excellent product if they spent a little more on materials.

Manufacturing defect
I ordered the bag just before my trip and noticed during my vacation that the right strap has a manufacturing defect. I need to contact Amazon or Pacsafe directly. I'm disappointed that Pacsafe has such a poor quality control before releasing their products for sale.
