Fantastic just the job for OPL
This is great value i had an old 1tb hdd kicking around and i used this adapter to install it in my PlayStation 2 Phat. and it just worked fine the first time i was expecting some difficulty's. But its almost plug and play just follow the youtube videos to learn how to install the software or just use freemcboot memory card to load the games. i recomend this over the original ps2 network one because its sata instead of ide. that's a ton better in this day and age

Good
It’s a good product, I suggest not to screw the screws at the back (it will still work as normal).

Does what it says
It is fantastic. Works well, easy to install. No problems so far.Word of warning for newcomers. The ps2 hard drive format is not readable by normal computers. Transfering files to the hard drive is fidgety. Either by very slow usb transfer or plugging the hard drive into your pc and using an outdated program. If you want things to be a bit smoother do some investigation into getting a real network adapter so you can transfer files and games via ethernet.

One of the Best Options to Choose for PS2!
If you are here looking to buy this product you are here for one of two reasons; You want a network adapter for your PS2 to play online, orYou want it to use a HDD and play your games from it, with a little magic called Free MCBoot/Free HDBoot. To start, this product does not actually have a functioning network port, it's just for show. This product is used to connect a SATA HDD to your PS2 to allow you to play your games from the HDD, which saves the PS2s laser, speeds up load times and keep the console quieter assuming your PS2 has a quiet fan. This product has worked perfectly without any faults. It lets me play my games with faster load times so as far as i'm concerned this Product does it's Job perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to play PS2 games, period.

Works like a charm
This adapter looks the part and wokrs the part it was pretty straight forward, plug hard drive in, slot in and Screw to the PS2. My only gripe is that one of the screws is slightly hard to put in as it maybe slightly misaligned but you just screw that side in first and then it fits fine. overall good bit of kit

Good, but needs improvement
This a good adaptor. It has a nice build quality, there is no unnecessary hole for the network port like other adaptors we see on the market, and has metal screws. However, because of the metal plate, it won't fit snug on the PS2. One of the screws will barely lock, and will very easily strip. This can be avoided quite easily:1. Unscrew the metal plate and remove it completely;2. Add the screws back on, to hold the two PCBs firmly in place. Don't overtighten it -- just screw down, until the PCBs are held firmly in place. You don't want them to move around when sliding in and out of the back of your PS2;3. Cover the SATA PCB with a tape -- this should help any shorts with the metal housing of the HDD (there really shouldn't be anything to worry about, but it's better to be safe). Now, the adaptor will fit perfectly on the PS2.I've attached some photos to give a better insight. Apart from this design issue, the adaptor is really great and works as advertised.

This is putting life back into my old PS2
I bought this as the optical drive was failing in my PS2 and adding a HDD with a FMCB mem card it would enable me to use my old games again, and I have to say its working great. Load times are faster and I'm happily playing burnout 3 and god of war again.I had some issues initially where the HDD would "disappear" and not be detected. Removing the drive and rebooting before adding back in would sometimes help. I believe these issues were due to a broken 3.5" SATA drive which I was using which had come out of an old PC, swapped to another 2.5" Sata disk from a laptop (which I had lying around and its now working perfectly. So beware of reusing older disk drives as they may be the source of your issues, this adapter however is working perfectly.

Simple installation, useful instructions
Paired with the Kaico FreeMcboot memory card, I was up and running playing games from the HDD within the hour. Installation is essentially: Slot the HDD into the adapter, screw the adapter into the PlayStation. Jobs done. The instruction manual contains useful information on formatting the drive ready for use, and how best to transfer games to the drive.I find the adapter fits nicely on the back of the PS2 and both screws are tight, although the drive itself is a little loose inside the PS2, so you probably don't want to move the console too much once it's in there.
