My motion says needs some upgrades
These work but.. required a Hub, and some understanding of how they work.. For these to work correctly:1. Of course they need the Tapo hub & app2. Then correctly setup via the Tapo app3. These require a trigger event to operate4. You need to adjust "Motion Sensitivity"5. You need to adjust "Detection Interval"6. Proper placement is key, range is ~20 feet7. A trigger event has to be detected by the Tapo app also8. Notifications has to be turn on for the Tapo app to alert with a notification. OBVIOUSLY9. Set up Smart Actions to automate the motion sensor or all you're getting is a Notification10. Also note that a " No Motion Detection" requires a "Motion Detection" event first. This is a bit confusing because in order for the "No Motion Detection" to work and trigger the "No Motion" event, this requires a "Motion Event" to trigger first. Like a flip flop circuit, no flip, then no flop. This is because "No Motion" is the default state. MOTION is required to basically wake this up then start the "Smart Action".11. After the trigger event and the "Smart Action" has completed "one time", the motion sensor resets to a sleep state waiting for the next trigger, so "No Motion" detection will not trigger again until this sensor gets triggered by some form of motion again.12. The "Detection Interval" is the sleep timer, it wakes up to check for motion when the detection Interval is met. So if motion takes place between the "Detection Interval" this will not trigger the sensor. If you have the "detection Interval" set to 60 seconds then any movement during that time is not going to trigger the sensor. This is why the "No Motion" event using "Smart Action" does not run the automation. This makes setting up the Sensor to trigger automation events a problem because the sensor has to get triggered again. So look at it this way, if the "Detection Interval" is set at 60 seconds, something could happen in those 60 seconds and the sensor wouldn't trigger anything, not even trigger "No Motion".Tapo is great, but they need to redesign these to work with wifi, or Bluetooth, these low frequency devices are only good because of less power requirements from that battery. Not a fan of battery devices like these. But they do work great, disappointing that Tapo doesn't support Bluetooth devices.

Terrific intuitive app
Tapo app is the best of all home automations I’ve used (and I’ve tried just about all of them). I am gradually replacing all my Aqara, Nest and Google and Govee cameras and leak detectors with Tapo products….all because to the ease of using the app.

These are slick!
They’re small and easily concealed, and they work brilliantly. I have mine set to turn on my office and bathroom lights whenever I go in either room, and turn off after x amount of time if no movement is detected. They also integrate with Alexa, so I can use my voice to turn the lights off if needed. I’m still building my system and getting used to it, but so far I love it.You need the hub (at left) for the sensor (at right) to function properly.

It senses motion as expected
I got one of these to automate a pair of Tapo L535 lights in our loft/office space and it works absolutely fantastic for it. You can adjust the sensitivity for motion (which seems to use a combination of distance sensing as well as actual motion), and the base that's attached to it is magnetic so you can slap it out of anything metal right out of the box (in my case I put it on a filing cabinet). And thanks to the Tapo app you can tie it into a bunch of your other Tapo smart devices like bulbs or the smart plugs.

perfect size, works well
Love the size, and easy placement exactly where it's needed - disappears easily into decor. Response is quick. I'll update when I get a sense of battery life.

Works, but not for freezers since alerts only go to -4°F
If this would allow you to set the Alert range (what they call the Comfort Zone) down to -20°F, or disable low temperature alerts, then I would give this a 5-star review since I already have Tapo (TP-Link) home automation products. But since they have it set to only a minimum of -4°F, when a freezer goes below this (which they do) you will receive push notifications about the low temperature. I only want to know when the temperature is above 26°F, but there is no way to disable the alerts for exceeding the low temperature.

Great addition to my Tapo setup (requires Tapo hub)
I already have over 20 Tapo smart home devices and have been extremely happy with all of them, so I had high expectations for the motion sensor — and it didn’t disappoint! Setup was quick and easy, and it integrates seamlessly with the rest of my Tapo devices. The sensor is responsive, reliable, and has great range. It’s been perfect for automating lights and adding an extra layer of convenience to my smart home. Highly recommend to anyone already in the Tapo ecosystem! Just an fyi though- this requires a Tapo hub to work, consider buying them together it’s usually cheaper
