After moving into our new home we began looking at options for lighting both indoors and outdoors. With already owning a handful of 'smart bulbs' we were not looking forward to the cost of fitting a whole house. I then stumbled across this little bit of kit. After looking into it further and contemplating more expensive alternatives I decided to give Sonoff a try and why not at such a price. I did get my electrician to install this product just to make sure everything was safe. According to them it was a straight forward fit. It was small enough to fit inside a metal clad two way light switch in my garage. I had it connected to the my outside light circuit. The device connected to the Welink app very quickly and easily. I can now control said lighting circuit from my phone. I have also connected it to Alexa. In this instance I have set a schedule for the outside lights to turn on and off at certain times. I can safely say paired with standard bulbs this is a much more cost efficient and dare I say better alternative to 'smart bulbs' unless you required RGB/remote dimming functions. I will be purchasing more of these for other areas in the home and further adding this to my home assistant setup eventually which would appear to a very simple integration. My electrician has also said that he is going to be buying one for his outside lights as he was impressed with it!

Nice and small, really good build. Used this to replaced failed outside light timer and working perfectly with home assistant via eweelink cloud. Job done.

I used this to replace a dusk-to-dawn sensor on my outdoor lights. Although the Sonoff unit itself is very compact, I needed to install a deeper surface back box in my garage because the additional light switch I fitted was quite deep. The wiring instructions were clear and easy to follow, making installation straightforward. Connecting it to WiFi only took a few seconds, and the app is simple to use. I can control my lights with multiple time schedules or switch them on and off instantly with a single tap. Great value for money and works perfectly.

These have worked great for the most part, I wish I could give 5 stars but of the 8 I got, after a few months, 3 of them I can not update to the 1.2 firmware and one of those has now started turning on and off every few minutes on its own...

I’ve used previous versions of Sonoff switches, but this Mini R4 is a massive improvement just based on the size alone. It is absolutely tiny. If you live in a UK house with those annoying shallow 35mm back boxes, this will not fit, you will need 47mm and most of the house will not have neutral in the light switch, so would suggest for no neutral sonoff smart switch. I managed to tuck it behind a standard light switch with room to spare for the wires. Setup was a doddle via the eWeLink app, and it discovered the device immediately. I really like the 'detach relay' mode—it allows me to use the physical wall switch to trigger scenes without actually cutting the power to my smart bulbs. Just remember: you do need a neutral wire at the switch location for this model, so check your wiring first. Highly recommended for a stealthy smart home setup. We had issues after few months but the sonoff customer care was helpful and they helped accordingly to resolve our complaint.

Very handy, and tiny little WiFi relays. I used them with the Ewelink app and they worked flawlessly. The only thing that would make them better would be to have change-over contacts on the relay. Instead, you just have a normally open connection, so you wouldn't be able to use these in a two-way switched circuit without adding another relay, which pretty much defeats the object of it being so small.

Very simple to set up and works well most of the time, but does keep becoming unresponsive. I have one of these mounted in a weatherproof junction box which powers my outside lights. It's linked to Home Assistant and every 2 or 3 weeks it becomes unresponsive and I have to turn the circuit breaker for the outside lighting circuit on and off to reset the device.

Works very well with Alexa once you enable the Ewelink skill. Placed in a group, actions can be added to turn the switch on or off by voice, by button remote or by sensor. Great value for money. Bought two of these when they were £12 each, which was oddly cheaper than buying a bundle of two. Could have bought the no-neutral version, but I needed to control these over WiFi as they are placed inside metal wall boxes, which Zigbee probably couldn't penetrate. You also need to connect to 2.4 GHz WiFi as 5 GHz is not supported and will prevent connection if you have the same SSID for both frequencies. I give my SSIDs different names for this reason.

Il SONOFF MINI R4, specialmente in questo comodo pack da 5 pezzi, si è rivelato una soluzione eccezionale per automatizzare diversi punti luce e dispositivi della mia casa. Cercavo da tempo una via per rendere "smart" i miei impianti esistenti senza dover sostituire completamente interruttori o prese, e questi moduli hanno superato le mie aspettative. La caratteristica che colpisce immediatamente è la sua dimensione estremamente compatta. Si inserisce facilmente dietro gli interruttori tradizionali o all'interno delle scatole di derivazione, rendendo l'installazione discreta e pulita. Ho installato i cinque moduli in diverse stanze, collegandoli a lampade e a un ventilatore, e il processo è stato sorprendentemente semplice seguendo le istruzioni fornite. Una volta configurati tramite l'app eWeLink, la loro affidabilità è stata impeccabile. La connessione Wi-Fi è stabile e la risposta ai comandi, sia tramite app che vocalmente con Alexa o Google Home (che uso regolarmente), è quasi istantanea. La possibilità di creare scenari intelligenti e programmare timer ha aggiunto un livello di automazione che non pensavo fosse così comodo: ora le luci si accendono e spengono automaticamente in base all'orario o alla mia presenza. La funzione "e-WeLink-Remote" è un plus non indifferente, permettendo un controllo ancora più versatile, anche se personalmente trovo l'integrazione vocale la più usata. La compatibilità con vari tipi di interruttori esterni (momentaneo, a levetta, ecc.) lo rende estremamente flessibile per diverse configurazioni. In conclusione, il SONOFF MINI R4 è un prodotto eccellente, versatile e affidabile per chiunque voglia avventurarsi nel mondo della domotica o espandere il proprio sistema esistente. Il pack da 5 offre un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo, permettendo di trasformare più punti in un'unica soluzione. È un acquisto che consiglio vivamente a tutti gli appassionati di smart home.

Mi experiencia con este interruptor WiFi ha sido muy positiva. Cumple bien con lo esperado, permitiendo controlar luces de forma remota y mediante voz con Alexa o Google Home. Su tamaño compacto facilita la instalación en cajas pequeñas. La calidad parece adecuada para su precio y es sencillo de usar con la app eWeLink. Como consejo, es importante revisar bien las conexiones y características antes de instalar para evitar errores. En general, lo recomiendo a quien busque una solución práctica y fiable para domotizar sin complicaciones.
