Handy tool, better than the plastic ones you can get
I've used the plastic ones in the past, the "disposable" ones you get for BT sockets, and those are abysmal. Usually they bend before you've even finished doing one job. This one is metal, so it is easier, and firmer. It enables you to give the wire the good shove it needs into the connector.A handy feature is the scissors on the end, as you push it's supposed to snip the remaining wire, so do remember to push the tool in the right way round or you might snip the wire off!I say "supposed" because I didnt find this to work that well. Perhaps the wire I was using was too thick, I do tend to use thick wires. But, it didn't matter.I'm also not entirely sure what the pull out tools are for. One looks like it's to get stones out of a horse's hoof. Beats me. I don't use them. But this tool is indispensable, and has a place in my telecoms/networking "tool kit", along with an RJ11 tester and various crimping tools.

I re’croned my phone socket that had four cables coming in to it.The punch down tool did a perfect job and was a doddle to use,I would recommend this piece of kit.👍

so my online purchase was extremely good value and I'm very happy with this product
Used this Punch Down Tool the other day to secure the wires in the BT box and it did the job perfectly. I've seen this same item for sale in a shop at many times the price, so my online purchase was extremely good value and I'm very happy with this product.

Worked pretty well. Seemed to require some careful positioning of the wires in order to get them trimmed in a patch panel but it seemed to work flawlessly in wall plates.
