Easy to set-up and Reliable
I have been using my switchbot mini hub and thermometer hydrometers for about 3 weeks and I have to say I am impressed. I have found the system very easy to set-up and link to my wifi and the app and the meters and hub work seamlessly with my Alexa. The system has been amazing for keeping an eye on temperatures and humidity levels around my property. This is by far the best system I have used so far for ease of use, connectivity and reliabilty. The app seems to work well with no glitches and is easy to install, link to devices and use on the go. On the whole I would highly recommend this product and switchbot, and I would definately consider using other products made by this company for their quality and reliabilty. I would also like to mention Switchbot's excellent customer service and after sales communication.

Cheap and good, with excellent build quality. Withstands bad weather
I have tried a few Bluetooth weather devices, and this Switchbot is the cheapest and best. Physically, its advantages over similar devices are that it uses standard batteries (2xAAA, supplied) rather than a semi-randomly chosen button battery, and that it is visibly waterproof - it is a smooth white plastic box and the battery compartment lid has a seal round it. Also, the nylon hanging loop is as new after 18 months outside and is far better than a hole in the back meant to go over a hook or a nail. I was surprised, for such a cheap device, to find that it supports firmware updates, as there was a notification in the app on the first Bluetooth LE connection. It updated in a couple of minutes from 0.4 to 0.5 - an odd version number for a released product - and, as is almost always the case now, there was nothing stating what the update fixed or improved. But the facility is important. In fact, there were four firmware updates in the first three months and the current version is 0.9, although there has not been a further update for over a year. The app is also updated every few weeks, and there is the option to try out beta versions. The Bluetooth signal is evidently good, and not entirely line of sight - I can transfer data into the app from a room about 60 feet away with the device slightly hidden round a corner of the house. Caching is well implemented and only new readings are transferred unless you explicitly clear the cache from within the app; this greatly speeds up everything as the device quickly accumulates thousands of readings. When I got a new phone it took 20 minutes to transfer all the readings. Its accuracy is better than that of my old Bresser weather station, which cost several times as much but badly underestimated temperatures. Here the quoted accuracy (+ or -0.2C) is, in itself, accurate in my experience. Another Switchbot advantage, although it gets oddly low ratings in Google Play, is the app. It looks good unlike many similar apps, is simple to set up and use, and data export is easy - select a date range and readings are exported to a comma separated values file in a defined time step. Exporting a reading every minute gives a huge 1.7MB/month file, but exporting a reading every half hour amounts to 50KB/month. I can produce graphs very easily from the exported file - the big graph follows an import into Excel 2024 LTSC with no further changes to one of the standard charting types other than to colours and the other two graphs show what the app can display itself. The battery level remained at 100% for a long time and is 58% after 18 months so, if the app is reporting the level accurately, the (standard alkaline) batteries will probably last for longer than the two years advertised. The Switchbot is an excellent data gatherer. If it could record barometric pressure as well as temperature and humidity, it would replace everything weather-related here. I use a second (ancient) Android phone to provide a semi-permanent display. A minor issue is that the instructions state that the temperature sensor is good to -20C, but the device is recommended only to be used at 5C or greater. It has been down to -6C, with whole days below 5C, and I have noted two missed readings in over a year, which were both when the temperature was well above 0C. Most impressive was that I discovered a bug when exporting. I raised a ticket in the app; there was a comment back about three days later that it was being "escalated to senior technical staff", then after six days there was a fix available in Google Play! That speed of response is otherwise unheard of in my experience, where technical comments are often not even acknowledged. As I had two other weather stations fail during the bad weather (huge temperature and humidity fluctuations) in January 2026, I extended my "Switchbot estate" as the good build quality mentioned in the second paragraph matters ... a lot. This device was the only survivor. £15 (£11 with a coupon) is an absolute steal for something which would have cost many times that a few years ago for the same functionality and would certainly have been less robust and less easy to use.

Fantastic Device
For me, this is a 5* product. I’ll get into why after I explain the 4*. One of the indoor / outdoor sensors in my pack of three unfortunately failed its firmware update out of the box and became bricked. Thankfully, support have been amazing and sending me a replacement. The process was little hassle. That being said, I feel out of principle I cannot give a 5* right now. The product itself is brilliant. Compact (actually smaller than I was expecting), which makes it unobtrusive and good to put in tighter spots or even inside things (a terrarium for example). Connectivity is excellent. No hub or even an app are needed for this, you can hook it straight into home assistant over bluetooth. However, the switchbot app is great and has a lot of useful functionality. One of my favourite things about this is that you can just use it or take it with you anywhere and check temp and humidity on your phone. I’m a bit of a data nerd so i’ve taken it to all sorts of different places in the short time i’ve had it. Accuracy is hard to gauge without a benchmark I know is 100%, which i don’t have. But I believe they are very accurate, and did my research before hand to make sure they would be. Having a number of these sensors, they seem to agree strongly with one another. Which is reassuring. The one thing I will mention, is that their time to adapt to a drastic change in temperature +-20 celsius is quite long. Perhaps 20 mins or maybe a bit more. This is no issue, as the accuracy is stellar. But for some others this may be a concern. Overall, i’d highly recommend these.

Excellent product
I love this, it’s easy to set up, I use mine in an outside solar inverter and battery housing. It’s a IP65 rated so it’s ideal for where I want it. It gives accurate readings and it’s easy to read. The app is also easy to use and gives lots of information. I’d definitely buy again.

Cheap, fast, accurate, works with Home Assitant via BT
Super device, I will not describe the operation with the Switchbot app, and focus on Home Assitant. The device is relatively small for a device that uses AA batteries, has a very cool, rounded shape, and comes with a 3m adhesive pad or ribbon for hanging. What is important, changing the batteries does not require a screwdriver and will take maybe 2 minutes, the problem may be opening the flap after sticking the sensor flap to the wall. I put the sensor into pairing mode by pressing the reset button for 2s, Home Assistant with bluetooth integration found it right away, I use Bluetooth integration in HA, and Switchbot Bluetooth integration, and this Sabrent BT dongle for under £6 - https://amzn.to/460Du0B - After adding sensor to HA, I also decided to try adding it to the SB app, I put the sensor into pairing mode again by holding the button for 2s and added it to the Switchot app. Interestingly, the sensor communicates with both devices, the phone and the HA. The sensor is very effective, it sends changes every 0.1 degrees, compared to the very expensive Philips Hue sensor, I would say that Philips is very slow in reporting changes, sometimes you have to wait and from 15minutes, and the motion sensor stopped working after a year. Super product, I will certainly get few more, for example, to monitor the refrigerator, so I put sensor into the refrigerator and I had a preview of the temperature and humidity from the refrigerator!!!! I might be tempted to replace some of the Xiaomi sensors. I sincerely recommend!

Good value, versatile environmental sensor for home automation buffs and weather watchers.
While these are larger than some other temperature/humidity sensors it means that the batteries will need replacing far less frequently than devices that use coin cells and rechargable AAAs can also be used. The IP65 rating means that they can stand a bit of moisture and can be used outdoors or in a kitchen freezer but they are not fully waterproof so don't put them in your fish tank for example. They transmit readings via BLE advertisement every couple of seconds and I have one in the shed at the bottom of the garden and can pick up its signals from the lounge which is well over 25m away with a couple of brick walls between them. The SwitchBot app can talk to them directly over Bluetooth/BLE or you can use any of SwitchBot's BLE/WiFi hub-capable devices to connect them to your SwitchBot account and access them from anywhere. From a Home Assistant server equipped with a Bluetooth radio, the local SwitchBot BLE integration also works well and you can use an ESPHome-based BLE/WiFi bridge node with the SwitchBot integration if the server is out of BLE range. Alternatively, the author of the Smart Home Scene web site has reverse-engineered the BLE announcements allowing you to use an ESPHome (or other tinkerer platform) device to expose the sensors directly to Home Assistant or whatever system you use. The sensor is pretty accurate out of the box but you can use the app to calibrate the temperature readings using an ice bath and SwitchBot provide step-by-step instructions for doing this.

Usefull Devices for logging and graphically displaying temperatures.
I cannot recommend these items highly enough. Small and compact they can be placed around the house to measure room temperatures and relay the information to a phone or tablet in real time. The hub is useful in several ways (although not essential). It can act as a relay point if a sensor is too distant to talk directly to your tablet avoiding the need to walk a little closer. It also stores data so the graphical view on the tablet is instant. The hub can link to four sensors. A non connected sensor can take a few seconds to build up the graph data. For those who are tech minded these are useful for monitoring heating set up and performance or in fridges and freezers although I have not tried this use. Isuspect the signal may be blocked by the metal work so the graphical data would only update when the door opened although would remain stored in the device meanwhile. Humidity data is handled in the same way. The data seems to be accurate in that several sensors together read the same. Note there is no temperature or humidity display on the device.

Works well with Home Assistant
A nice simple sensor that that works. It is a breeze to set up with Home Assistant. I use cheap Kirkland AA batteries from Costco. I don't think they last the advertised 2 years, but they certainly last... The only minor problem I had was intermittent connection that suddenly appeared, and didn't go away even after replacing with fresh batteries. The problem turned out to be the battery terminals within the battery sensor enclosure which weren't making contact properly. I bent these back out with a knife to improve contact and the problem quickly went away.

Handige Stand Alone thermometer
