Leifheit Long Handled Closed Dustpan and Brush Set, Turquoise and Grey

This is the third cleaning product I have bought from the Leifheit brand. The set is described as 'Professional' presumably as the pan has somewhat greater capacity than most others. The pan lip opens as it is placed flat on the floor and closes as it is being lifted and is fitted with an angled rubber section for a tighter fit to any hard floor. The inner neck of the pan is fitted with a comb to help remove debris from the brush. The brush bristles are of a medium stiffness which should work well with a variety of surfaces and, when not in use, the brush handle clips to the pan and the brush head sits within. As a further improvement for this design, the brush head is pivoted which allows the full width of the brush to be more often in full contact with the floor even when the handle is at an angle and the arm out-stretched.The stems of both handles do not appear to be metal but of fairly substantial plastic contruction. The same (presumed) material has proven very satisfactory for the other Leifheit products and will probably serve equally well for this.Although I have not yet owned any of the Leifheit products for more than 2 years, they all have a minimum 5-year guarantee. As far as the oldest of these products (a mop and bucket set) is concerned, it still performs perfectly with the original mop head whereas I was previously buying a new mop every few months - usually as products were discontinued and updated 2 or 3 times per year - although all came from the same established British brand. I would expect this to last for several years as it is likely to be less heavily used than the mop system.All Leifheit products appear to very well made and use first class materials. Design is also a strong feature of the brand as is the personally annoying aqua/sea green colour scheme used for their cleaning products; there is no other colour option. Other product ranges use black, white or grey.A solidly recommended purchase.

I bought this after having a similar but inferior quality product where the pan distorted and I ended up sweeping the dirt straight under it. I was a bit worried about the size of the broom as one reviewer mentioned that the handle was very short and I am 6ft, however I have not had any problem with the brush and I also suffer from back problems. The bush is not very wide but it works perfectly as a dustpan brush and the angled head saves wrist strain. I use a large broom to sweep dirt into piles and then use this to collect them up, it would take you a lot longer to use this brush to sweep the whole floor but it is not really designed for that. It was slightly awkward to empty the first few time but I have now got used to it and have no trouble, my old set was just as awkward to start with too. There is a clip that allows you to lock the pan open when you push the handle right back and this makes emptying much easier. So far a really useful and well made product though I have only had it around 4 months so far.

This dustpan is excellent as you can get everything in, without it leaving bits on the floor. However, it is awkward to empty as you have to angle it awkwardly to get the dirt into the bin, and I still haven't got the knack of opening it! I usually take it outside to shake it out. The broom is the disappointing bit - it is very small width wise, so it takes ages to sweep the floor. Also, the idea of putting it into the slot in the pan to store it is brilliant, except, it tends to distort the bristles on the broom.

I biught one of these and then when I moved house I left it behind and bought a cheaper similar looking version on the net,I bought it for parquet floors and for the tiled kitchen floor.One disappointment was that when it arrived the edges of the brush was splaying open, and the brush fits into a hole in the pan, this makes it worse. I also found that the tiltable brushhead made things worse rather than better - however despite the short handle it did keep the floors clean.What is good is that the pan stays vertical with the brush attached. With the pan you can keep things in it, leave it in the corner for reuse, and just empty it out once a week or whatever.The cheaper pan (about half the price), came with screw together handles in parts rather than a solid handle. It has slightly more problems with the tiltable head, but at least its not splayed out. Brushing is similar.What it doesn't do is to stand up vertically on the pan. I have to lean it against the corner to stand up.So whether its worth £10 for the pan to stand up vertically on its own is up to you.

sweeps ok, but doesn't stand up! The design is not balance so that when you clip the brush to the pan handle it falls over.Very annoying.Having a buy a new brush/pan now.

The reason I only gave this a 2 is because the pan doesn't meet the floor in the middle. It's ok at the sides but it seems to arch in the centre and doesn't meet the floor which means the dust gets brushed under instead of going in the pan and the brush is slightly inferior. I chose the Leifheit because it was a brand I had heard of and assumed it would be a good product but it's now just sitting in a corner not being used. An unfortunate waste of money.

The dust pan is excellent. Quality and functionality wise.The broom is like a toy though. Extremely light weight which is a good thing but it doesn't feel as good as the mops. The bristle length is on the shorter side and so is the length of the broom. Works well if you are short.Overall the system is very effective and easy to use.review update. I've had this for almost a year. and i don't know what I would do without it. it's still as good as the day i bought it. a friend has now bought her second standing broom since we purchased different brands together. do not hesitate to buy this product because of the pricing. their quality is unmatched

Erstmal grundlegendes: Gummilippe liegt plan auf, Behälter ist dicht und groß genug, Besen kann auch Sand, Staub und Haare gut fegen.Doch nun zu den Funktionen, die ich erst nach und nach entdeckt habe:Der Besen unten ist im Winkel verstellbar, daher auch für Ecken gut zu gebrauchen.Außerdem hat der Auffang-Behälter zwei Einraststufen. Stellt man ihn aufrecht, lässt sich entweder über leichten Druck mit der Hand, oder aber indem man den Behälter zwischen die Füße klemmt und leicht zieht, der Behälter einrasten und somit verschließen. Hängt man ihn so auf, nimmt er wenig Platz in Anspruch.Stellt man ihn waagrecht (Gummilippe auf dem Boden), kann man den Stab auch über leichten Druck mit den Fuß auf dem grünen Behälter auch in dieser Stelle einrasten. Dann lässt sich das Kehrset auf freistehend standfest hinstellen.Zusammengefasst: bin begeistert und würde bei Bedarf jederzeit wieder kaufen.

They cost more than I wanted to pay but they seem well made and will most likely last many years. In the meantime, the broom part works great at getting everything off the floor and into the dustpan. No more bending over with a separate dustpan to sweep dust and dirt into it. I like how the two parts go together so I don't have to find each part.
