Easy to use
Purchased for mum who has moved into care due to Alzheimer’s. Really helpful as she is aware she can contact us and we are able to speak to her if she’s in her room. So easy to use no mess having a line fitted and excellent value for money

Excellent phone as alternative to Landline for someone in Care Home
As others have mentioned the manual is a little on the light side, however that is the only downside as far as we have been concerned. We have used it for my elderly grandmother who is in care although she has no significant cognitive impairment. We have programmed it for 3 speed dials to family members (numbers and names must be entered in the memory first and then the speed dial function added to them after). Mainly however it has been used for incoming calls and has performed really well getting an excellent signal from its GiffGaff sim.

Good first impressions
I bought this phone for my elderly mother who has moved into a care home and does not get on with mobile phones. As other reviewers have indicated the phone instruction manual isn't very clear but it was fairly easy to program the three "picture" buttons once I had worked out that the numbers you want the picture buttons to dial must be in the contact book before they can be assigned to the "picture" buttons. However, like most reviewers of this phone I have yet to work out how to program the other speed dial buttons. I am using a Tesco Pay-as-you-go SIM in the phone at the moment and some of the speed dial buttons seem to be programmed to Tesco mobile service numbers and so the problem with assigning speed dial buttons may be a function of the SIM I am using. However, as a loudspeaker phone for the elderly, and anyone else for that wants a speaker phone, it is very good, loud and with good tone. To answer a call all she does is press the bright green button in the bottom right hand corner of the phone or pick up the receiver. She has had problems with spekerphones in the past as her hearing is poor even with hearing aids but she can hear clearly with this phone. As her sight is also poor she has trouble reading the green display but I have yet to find a phone that has a clear display that she can see on either a landline phone or mobile phone. Also, I haven't yet found a phone with a display that has a large display that tilts and has a high contrast for those with poor sight. Like many modern phones the handset receiver is very light and easily knocked from its rest on the phone body but this hasn't been a problem so far. The phone signal strength appears to be better on this phone than my mobil in the same location (but we are using different providers).

You need perseverance
Horrendously difficult to set up - poor instructions and manufacturer website useless however once operational it’s great ( couldn’t get it to recognise SIM ) - bought for elderly person in a care home no longer able to use a mobile

Couldn't get product to work and very poor build quality
Spent hours and hours trying to get this phone to recognise a SIM fro an existing mobile phone. I sent for a sim from O2 but couldn't get that to work either. Tried a 3rd SIM from Giff - phone wouldn't recognise that either. Tried calling all the manufactures phone numbers but no answer. Ok we're in the middle of a pandemic but surely somebody must be working from home? Tried email and got an answer but no help whatsover except to confirm that I seemed to have inserted the SIM correctly. Returned via Amazon but the instructions from the seller (Joe-Audio) state that "If the product is faulty we can only replace or repair for issues covered under manufacturer warranty!" Suggest the seller reads up on distance selling regulations and the consumer rights act. Will update review later with regard to my refund request. Bought a competitive product (Benwell) and got it working within 5 minutes.

Compact and easy to use
We hardly ever use the landline. Mostly receive calls and make maybe 2 or 3 outgoing calls a month. This is our first step to getting rid of the expensive BT line rental but we still need it at the moment for broadband. Audio quality is excellent and we’ve had some comments that it sounds better than our old phone. Signal is good even though the phone is in the hallway and we are in a block of flats.Inputing the contacts was simple and so was adding the 3 quick dial contacts. One thing i found odd about the quick dial feature was that you had to press the contact button you want to call ‘before’ you pick up the receiver. On other phones I’ve had in the past you had to pick up the receiver first then press the button.Like an old style mobile you can check the phonebook, messages, settings and call log etc using the up, down, left and right buttons. Very easy to navigate. I wish you could add your own ringing sounds, the ones supplied are pretty poor. Not one sounds like a traditional phone sound. Also, i wish you could change the amount of times it rings. The most you can set is 9 rings before it cuts of (or i think it goes to voice message).Overall a very good purchase i wish i made ages ago. If you don’t use the phone a lot and can maybe get rid of the line rental i would recommend this phone. I’m using this with a Classic Pay As You Go Tariff with £10 top-up that should last us all year.
