Product Description Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei prove that laughter is relative in this comedy that’s fun for the whole family. Old-school grandparents Artie (Crystal) and Diane (Midler) get more than they bargained for when they get stuck babysitting their type-A daughter’s (Tomei) over-protected kids. But things go from hectic to hysterical when Artie realises the kids are running the house with their new-fangled technology. By playing by his own rules, which include sugary snacks, old-fashioned games and tough love, Artie manages to outsmart the kids and achieve the impossible--bring the family closer together. Special Features: Deleted Scenes with Optional Commentary by Director Andy FickmanAudio Commentary with Andy Fickman and Billy CrystalTheatrical Trailer desertcart.co.uk Review Artie (Billy Crystal) and Diane (Bette Midler) realise that they're the "other grandparents"--the ones their three grandkids barely know and dread seeing. So when they have a chance to take care of Harper (Bailee Madison), Turner (Joshua Rush), and Barker (Kyle Harrison Breitkopf), Diane jumps at it, dragging a reluctant Artie along. Naturally, their old-school approach to parenting clashes with the anxious, helicopter-parenting of their daughter Alice (Marisa Tomei) and her husband Phil (Tom Everett Scott). Which will win out? There's really no suspense--contemporary parenting is an easy target and every time Artie complains about how the kids are indulged, random strangers applaud him. However, as Artie's parenting technique yoyos between threats and bribery, movie audiences may find themselves on Alice's side. Parental Guidance is a flimsy movie built around cartoonish kids with cliché problems and jokes about poop and getting hit in the crotch. The plot eventually gets stuck in a mire of nostalgia and vanity (did Midler really have to have a musical number?). But along the way there are moments between kids and grandparents--and between parents and grandparents--that are genuinely sweet. Midler is just coasting through this, but Crystal, who remains a talented and charismatic actor, puts his heart into it. --Bret Fetzer Review: Great Comedy - Family movie and is fantastic, story is fabulous and with Bette Midler and Billy Crystal you could not have chosen two fine actors to do it any better. The comedy goes from start to finish with a few minutes stolen buy the children with their great acting. Story goes mum don't leave me with my grandparents, they are weird and just don't go?. Twist and turns go from here and there while holding you hanging on with dear life, plenty of laughter and clever little punch lines thrown in as well to keep you interested never a dull moment, so collect your popcorn sit with your feet up while relaxing in front of the television, I rated this show an A grade plus for marvelous entertainment for all, don't take my word see for yourself and be the judge. Enjoy Review: HilARIOUS FAMILY COMEDY - I bought this movie as something to sit and watch with my kids at a week-end. Also because i like Bette Middler & Billy Crystal. It was a very amusing film, plenty of laughs and a few sad parts too. The "other" grandparents were reluctantly called apon at the last minute to take over babysitting duties while the parents went away. But, they had very old fashioned views on how to discilpine the kids, which didn't go down well with the "new age" parents! I wont spoil it by giving away any detales, but suffice to say it is a learning curve along th way for all involved with lots of laughs and a happy ending.

Billy Crystal at his best
Having seen Billy Crystal in a number of films and in at least one television show plus presiding over Oscar ceremonies I knew what to expect. Comedy at it's best. It was further helped by the presence of Bette Midler, of the nearly permanent smile, as his wife. This is a story of a family encouraging grandparents to look after their children - with the nearly obvious cliche' like scenarios at might follow such a responsibility being passed over (for a time). Most enjoyable film and can be thoroughly recommended for grandparents and parents to watch together.

Fantastic!
This is such a brilliant film for all the family. We all saw it at the cinema and loved it then they wanted it to keep. They recently watched it with their grandparents who also really enjoyed it - especially making my father in law cry at the end! Excellent film and very funny.

My spouse and I can relate to this movie and its premise as we are grandparents to two teenage grandchildren and one 4-year-old granddaughter, with thirty-something children. It's about wanting to be involved in the lives of one's granddchildren, something that is sometimes difficult to do in this modern hectic life we live. Billy Crystal and Bette Midler as the grandparents bring their great humour and on-screen chemistry to their roles and the parents and the grandchildren are all wonderful. This is a well-cast movie and it is at times heartbreaking but always funny and very entertaining. We would recommend it.
