I didn't know what to expect - the book kept my attention - fast moving - good plot & characters - interesting - best of all the "hero" keeps winning over the bad guys - can't wait to read the next Lucas Stone

Pistol packing preacher.........
Sins paid for in a unique way - maybe not approved by the almighty. The best is the repartee among the characters including Max.

plenty of action, good plot twists.
Well paced and interesting characters. Descriptive settings add to the storyline.A quick, well paced read, with plenty of action and identifiable firepower notations. Will buy the next episode.

Excellent start to new series
The story features Lucas Stone a former warrior turned preacher ,he becomes a preacher in a small town in the adirondacks. He isnβt there for long before he runs into trouble & reverts back to his old ways to save someone he cares for. An excellent action packed book . I have read some of Mark Allenβs other books & they have been equally good.

No nonsense read
Lucas Stone is a former black ops who've now hung his boots after his daughter's death. He moves to a small town as a preacher but he doesn't believe in traditional ways. He quickly make enemies and a few friends too. The enemies pose threat to his friends and he goes berserk. Then there's a mystery of the young girls being killed by wolves from local woods, which Stone solves along the way. There's little room for fluff which I liked the most. Though Stone is a former black ops and can kill with ease, the body count is just too high given it's a small town. Also, he keeps killing people repeatedly and the police doesn't bat an eyelid. That's only the drawback. Will grab the next book as soon as it's out.

A new life as a preacher?
That was quite a page turner. Former black ops operator Lucas Stone leaves behind a life of violence and becomes a preacher in a small town in the northern Adirondacks. At least that's what he intended. But there are dark souls residing in the area and soon Lucas is forced to revert to what he did in his former life. Lots of bloody and sometimes gory action scenes and quite some fun along the way. Not for the faint at heart. I'll follow the future adventures of Lucas for sure!

Great story
A really great story with the characters both believable and likable. Tbe bad guys are truly bad and actually despicable. A really good book that was hard to put down.
