Section 2 of instructions there is a mistake. If I install the plate 2-1/2" down the upper 2 cap nuts are above the wood. Need help with this step

Nice day! Your situation is not common, but we have a customer with this problem before and finally, this customer completed the installation.

The solution was: 
Slightly adjust the mounting position according to the actual installation, like move the original holes down 1/2", and adjust the mounting position of the male pivot and upper stud plates.
 
How do you feel about this solution? Or would you want to try another one?

Solution two:
The lower plate isn't flush with the boards and adjust the size of the upper stud plate to ensure that the pistons can work properly so that the bed frame will fit into the bed cabinet correctly. Install the lower plate first, then install the end fitting with text of PA66 of the piston onto the ball stud of the lower plate and position the upper stud plate accordingly.

The pistons wont release at all  Is there an isdue with these pistons?

Thank you for your purchase! First of all, for safety reasons: do not try to compress the piston by hand or by any other means, as the piston stores a lot of mechanical energy. This is a great safety hazard!

Second: As for the problem you mentioned, this is because the piston stores a lot of mechanical energy, so the pressure we apply by hand is not enough to make the piston work properly. When you mount it on the bed, the weight of the bed is enough for the piston to work properly.
