Great quality ‘really useful’ boxes
I love these boxes and this size is great as you can put in larger items easily. They stack and so far seem to be resistant to cracking. I’ve finally found a match in quality for our 30 year old curver boxes but these are better due to the click on lids.

Good storage crates
I confess that I do like a good storage box, whether for food or other detritus around the home and I discovered Really Useful boxes many years ago. They come in lots of different shapes and sizes and you need to be wary that you are comparing like for like as boxes can be the same capacity but a different shape. The boxes are incredibly strong overall and some of mine have survived being dropped onto the garage floor without being damaged (and also protecting the contents). In fact, my wooden garden table fell onto one of these boxes; the box survived without any damage whatsoever but my table was a different story... my most recent order also survived being dropped and then kicked by the courier. They are designed to be stackable and the lids clip onto the base via two handles, which hold it firmly in place. Mine are mostly put to use in the loft and garage, storing things like bird seed, paperwork, tools, garden equipment, Christmas decorations and so on; there is even a Really Useful box designed to be the right size to store LP records (and I can vouch for the fact LPs fit in perfectly). I also have my glass baubles stored in separate compartments within another specially designed box. As they are also clear, you can see what's in them as well, although for stacked boxes a label stuck on the front is very helpful. I am buying more at the moment as I am preparing for a house move and am using these for fragile items as well as heavy things like books. The 64 litre box is great for larger items and provides more flexibility for stacking multiple items, you just need to keep an eye on the overall weight; the box can cope, but you might not be able to lift it when full. If you like being organised, I think you will like the Really Useful range of boxes. I have not regretted my purchases, even though I have owned them for several years and they are subjected to extremes of temperature, being mostly used in the attic and garage. They should also help ensure my fragile items survive their next house move.

A true sign of Middle Aged life. Reviewing storage boxes on Amazon.
Whats one of the signs you've reached middle age? When you write a 5 star review for a storage box, and not only that, you tell people about how good they are. Yeah, sounds all a bit silly, but honestly, these are absolutely outstanding boxes. They are tough, made in about 100 different sizes, and stack beautifully. I'll focus on the 64 litre box, as that's the one I now have 20+ of. They are ideal for Loft or Garage storage, as they are a bit too big to fit under beds, unless you have a really high bed. They have a handle at each end, so can be carried by 2 people if you overload it. The blue clips at each end hold the box securely shut. They stack SO WELL. They just slot on top of each other and line up perfectly. I use these for clothes storage in the loft, for tool storage in the garage, I even have a small box with ratchet straps in etc in the boot of the car. I'm a complete convert to these boxes. The only thing that could be possibly considered a negative is that they don't slide on carpet. They grip, really well. I've put 40+ KG of DIY materials in one of these boxes, and it was fine. Go buy them, today!

The best storage boxes, by a mile (and the priciest!)
We now own about half a dozen of these. They're rock-solid, stackable, seal tightly (paperwork etc. you put in them doesn't seem to get damp, etc.) and PROBABLY worth three times as much as the usual flimsy plastic storage boxes you can pick up from other vendors. But there's the thing - they actually COST three times as much. In fact, you can pick up storage boxes for significantly LESS than 1/3 the cost of these larger Really Useful boxes. The question is, does this represent value for money? I'd suggest that the answer is probably "Yes". I've thrown away (recycled, of course!) loads of storage boxes over the years whose handles have broken or whose lids no longer clip on well. I've yet to have to retire a Really Useful box, all the ones we have are still going strong. And some of them were bought from a well-known high-street stationary store which went bust about 5 years ago, so we've had them a while! If you're looking for solid, robust, reliable, stackable storage which feels reassuringly well built (and is) that you can pick up without it flexing or bending and will probably last you (if treated well) for decades, look no further. Yes, there are cheaper options avaiable, but "buy cheap, buy twice", so why not spend twice as much and get something that'll last?!
