CPS VP6D 6 CFM 2 Stage Vacuum Pump

I returned this item to Amazon. Generally, CPS vacuum pumps are very reliable. I have two others that have worked for years. Apparently CPS does not do the basic check of making sure the pump works before being shipped.

Ive owned this same pump for a few years now. It treated me well so once it started going out I decided to order another one. It just arrived 30 minutes ago. The Amazon box was good, no marks or dings. The manufacturers box was also good. The styrofoam was even good. After removing all the styrofoam and seeing the pump in the clear bag, which was also fine, I see the fan cover smashed inward at the bottom, making contact with the fan blades. It appears the manufacturer knowingly placed this broken item into the bag, the styrofoam, and the box, and knowingly sold it in its condition. CPS has treated me well over the years. I’m highly disappointed after this. I requested an exact item replacement and am returning this one. I will update when the new one comes in. If it’s also broken, this will be the last CPS purchase I will be making.

Excellent for ac and home appliance work great

It seems like a nice pump, easy to watch the oil level, or change the oil. All metal construction - seems like a nice unit. It is surprisingly loud - at least as loud as an air compressor or chainsaw. Be advised you will need hearing protection, I have tried 2 of these and they were both the same.

This little pump is quiet, performs well, is lightweight, and is a nice quality build. It had no trouble pulling my mini split down below 50 microns. Compared to so many other brands of vac pumps, it is nice to see a quality build. Everything is molded and milled to shape, aligns well, and feels good in your hand, not flimsy or hollow low-grade stuff. CPS is a recognized brand and this little pump sticks to the brand’s quality reputation. I also like the c13 removable power cord, it makes transport and storage cleaner, and you can get long cords so you don’t need extension cords. Startup was a breeze, just unpack, dump in the included oil, and start vacuuming.

Worked well besides spewing oil everywhere from the bottom. If it didn't do that it'd be perfect. Pulls very hard and deep but can't have oil mess

I have had this pump for a little over 4 years and I'm finally retiring it and upgrading. Ever since getting it, it has been unreliable. I have done probably 25-30 evacuations in that time and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I have to rely on co-workers as it won't pull a deep enough vacuum. I changed the oil after every 2 or 3 jobs, but it doesn't help much. Thought it might have been my micron gauge, but I ruled that out by testing it on other pumps. I don't know what else to say, but it was unreliable and caused me anxiety almost every time I was i need of it. Try something else, I went with Navac.
