Simple plug and play support reads a wide variety of disc formats
I'm very pleased with this drive and how easy it is to use. It was immediately recognised by both my Windows 10 Samsung laptop and Windows 11 Lenovo Desktop with no need for any additional drivers to be loaded. So true plug and play support. Both my laptop and desktop also provided enough power to the drive from a single USB 2 or USB 3 connection and so there was no need to provide any additonal power. It is however extremely useful that a external power cable has been provided in the box which would allow you provide a separate power source for the drive which might be prudent when writing large amounts of data to a CD or DVD to minimise the possibility of device disconnections if it draws more power than the single USB port on your device can deliver. In terms of discs, it has happily read my music CDS, retail data CDs for software installation without any compatability issues too. So it perfectly meets my requirements for a portable CD/DVD drive as most laptops and devices no longer come with optical drives these days.It feels quite robust and rigid and so I would expect it to be quite durable when transporting about in my laptop bag with my other devices. It also isn't overly heavy so doesn't add a great deal of weight in my bag. It has got four little rubberised feet on the base which helps it grip on shiny surfaces such as a desk and helps minimise any vibrations whilst the discs are being read.In terms of the casing, the finish seems ok for the price too with a matt underside, shiny sides and a sort of brushed diamond effect top which catches the light in quite a pleasant way.All in all this is just what I was looking for and for quite reasonable price.

Great job
Great job, plug and play straight away. No issues with speed when transferring our images from the disc to the computer hard drive. Nice compact external disc drive.

Good value device and does the job
I needed an external DVD/CD drive and this one seemed to fit the bill on a combination of price and reviews. It arrived quickly and was easy to "set up" - actually that just means taking it out of the packaging and working out which combination of the provided cables is needed. As with many products nowadays, the instructions aren't 100% clear but it wasn't too hard to work out.I can't comment on reliability as I have only had the drive for a couple of weeks but the build quality looks quite good.

Great plug and play works first time
Wanted a good value device to rip some music CDs as my new PC doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. This was great value for money, worked straight away without needing any additional software.

Simple and Works
So far so good. Using it on an old Lenovo Windows on which the onboard DVD reader has malfunctioned and this one seems to do the job pretty well. Connected to the back of the PC for power, as front USBs don't support the power needed (however there is an adaptor supplied for this, which I didn't need to use).Only time will tell how long it lasts.

Great cd/dvd drive
Detachable cable of decent length, faster transfer speed than my last drive and excellent price.

Leads Too Short
This drive is working well (only had it a few days) but the provided leads are far too short, making it impossible to put it where I had wanted.

A good buy.....
I bought this to go with my new laptop. The primary function was to digitise my CD collection which I started on my old PC. I was impressed with the price and hoped for the best but need not have worried. It worked straight out of the box (Windows 11 home) and I checked its functionality with various discs. So far it reads CD's and DVD's well and I've already ripped a couple of my music CD's. I also tried it with an old backup CD and a DVD I found from 2005 (yikes!) and it indexed and read those very quickly. It looks neat and tidy next to my laptop and I am happy with the length of the connecting cables, though yet to try the USB C connectivity. I have not tried and probably will not need to write to CD or DVD any more so can't comment on that. All in all I am very pleased with this kit for the price, it does the job.
