This is priced about the same as similar grinders that don't have the removable easy-clean canister, so in exchange, just take a little extra care since it does not have industrial grade moving parts. Despite that, it has some nice design features [a canister lid that is built into the topper--others have an additional lid that can get lost], and a lack of useless finicky components [timer, twisty knobs, etc]. I find it works even better than the fancy attachment that went on my (now broken) ninja blender. CARE TIPS THAT MAY EXTEND ITS USEFUL LIFE 1) DON'T PUT IN DISHWASHER-- instead just remove and wash the canister by adding a bit of soap and quickly rinse it out [to avoid accumulation of oils], air or towel dry [this is true for any canister, like for blendtec, with a built-in blade] and 2) don't overload with hard spices [like large dry beans] -- I use it for coffee, peppercorns, caraway/cumin seeds and similar. While I think this is great, and will last ME a long time, this probably will not work for the chef who uses daily for hard grinding like making flours, and the like. Hope this helps.

As with any grinder, they make a high pitch sound, but this one is so easy to use and works fast. I had to reduce my grinding time for the coffee that I put in the drip coffee maker. It will make a fine powder very quickly, and depending on your waiting time for coffee to filter through, you want a more coarse grind. With that, I can make an espresso with a deep rich flavor. You will have to find you style of grind you want. I am sure you can grind herbs or any spices with this. That is up to you.

A reasonable price and works well. I like the design of the lid which seems to contain the ground coffee or spices better than my previous grinder. My only complaint is that it is so loud I feel the need to wear ear protection while using it.

Bought this for my grandson to use to grind herbs and spices to make his own seasoning blends. He has food allergies and this allows him to make his own safe for him to eat seasonings to flavor his food. Easy to use and clean. Very happy with this purchase.

If you are looking for a coffee bean grinder this is the one to get. No mess with any grounds- There is a cover piece that goes over the top and keeps everything cleanly in the cup. The cup can be easily removed after grinding to put into your coffee maker. Huge improvement over the older style one I had that you would have to flip over after grinding to get the ground coffee in the removeable cup.

Was grinding almonds, the machine burnt and stopped rotating. I used only once.

The coffee grinder is well made, sturdy, easy to use, and of good quality. Like the metal finish, looks good on the countertop.
