LIFX GU10 (International) Wi-Fi Smart LED Light Bulb, Adjustable, Multicolour, Dimmable, No hub required, Compatible with Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant [Energy Class G]

Great smart bulb, lots of color ranges and varying whites. Hasn't missed a beat connecting to my wifi when placed outdoors in a waterproof enclosure. Only down side is these are about 5mm longer than your standard gu10 but I guess that's down to fitting all the "smart" functionality into it.

Works just as any other lifx bulb does. Simple to install, setup and control through the mobile app. Really excellent colour control that I can configure to sync with the other bulbs in the room.The bulb is a little bit longer than a standard gu10 bulb so if you care deeply about asthetics then it's worth measuring your fittings carefully so that it doesn't stand proud.

On the plus side the bulb is very bright and looks and feels well made. The downside is that it is MASSIVE. All of my current GU10 bulbs are about 53mm in length and fit nice and snugly into their fittings. This bulb is 74mm in length and hangs out of the fitting making the whole fitting look stupid and untidy. I also had an amazing amount of trouble getting the android app and windows 10 app to see the bulb and in the end gave up and returned it. Had the bulb connected to the app I may have over looked the unsightliness of them given they have a good reputation. If LIFX bring out a 53mm version I would probably look at them again.

I have 15 LIFX bulbs bought since 2018. I recently purchased an Orbi. The 5 newer LIFX bulbs I have connected to the Orbi with no problem. The 10 older LIFX bulbs won’t. LIFX have been useless and repeatedly said the problem is the Orbi and it is not their responsibility. The problem is not the Orbi. The problem is that they are supplying products that become out of date after 2 years (and past their warrantee) and they don’t care. I would not buy their bulbs again. I have 10 expensive bulbs that glow white. Who is to say that the same will not happen with the 5 newer bulbs. They won’t even take the older redundant bulbs back and replace them. But they won’t offer a solution either.

As others have noted, this item has a large body so is unlikely to fit most recessed ceiling fittings. Let's hope a future version of this is smaller as there are GU10 smart bulbs available that are more compact.
