It works if you know what you're going.
Bought a key for my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee at The Orange Box store. It was a non transponder key, the cost and duplication was $2.95. I have the two original transponder keys that came with the vehicle. I had the key on the key ring with my house key, just in case I locked myself out of my vehicle. I glued the chip to the key and programmed it by following the procedure in my owners manual. It is possible if you have two original keys. Total cost $10, a locksmith wanted $125 for the blank, cutting and programming. The dealer cost would probably be much higher. These keys and FOBs are a total racket and ripoff.These chips cost pennies when purchased in bulk. I'm considering purchasing a $425 programmer that plugs into the OBII connector if you only have one key or FOB. The tool comes with two universal FOBs.

Chip has no identifying markings, attempted to program without success. Upon purchasing another listings was successful in programming to the vehicle
