IOGEAR Wireless HD Plug and Play HDMI Computer/TV/Projector Audio Video Audio Extender Kit

I needed a wireless link to send HD video from a cable box to a TV in the garage. This fit the bill perfectly. The range is probably nowhere near what they claim, but it is working good thru a wall - the units are about 40 feet apart. Both units are relatively small and lightweight. I was able to hot glue them to the back of the TV, with no problems, so just the antenna sticks up on the rear. I was a little hesitant, as they are less than the other very popular brand here on ebay. I have used IOGEAR in the past with good luck, so I took a chance with these. Very glad I did - saved a few bucks and got exactly what I needed.

So I’ve read reviews on a few items and reason I chose this is because of pricing. It was right in the middle. My main concern was that it would work not just through one wall but 2-3. I did an install for home security and the house was so big I couldn’t find a way to stream the 4 cameras to the tv; living room from the garage, hardwire in the main room. Impossible to even wire to the router without punching walls. This has its own WiFi built in instead of Bluetooth which I like better. Dedicated wifi with no programming. Plug and play. From the garage through laundry room, pass the kitchen to their 70” 4k tv this saved the day. The family was happy and TV looks great. Being like any wireless there is a small 1-2sec delay but for what I’m doing is perfect. I almost went for the $200 system but had a feeling I would have gotten same results. But it did the job for the most part. I did notice it froze and had to unplug the power on one end to relink. Def want to keep it on the same room if you can or through one wall. Garage def was a stretch but for this setup worked and will most likely buy again.

IOGEAR Wireless HDMI TV Connection Kit, GWHDKIT11 - This is actually my first (of two) review(s) here (of any product) but I felt compelled to share my thoughts (in an effort to help others). I was very disappointed with this unit! The product description could easily be misinterpreted and the design seems somewhat senseless to me. Regardless, the performance left a lot to be desired! I realize that this company has a (much) older unit that incorporates a more useful design (at least for home use) but these newer models have more current wireless technology and are (supposedly) more stable and efficient. Theoretically, a better choice? Not necessarily! Firstly, once the transmitter is connected to a video source (at the primary TV location), that source is now dedicated only to the remote location. You now need an HDMI splitter (plus additional cables). There's no output provided for the primary TV. You loose the use of that source at your primary TV. This makes no sense to me (especially in a home environment)! It becomes a messy, convoluted and more costly situation to make this modification. Why no output for the primary TV? Is this simply an attempt to encourage you to upgrade to a more expensive model or just an oversight? Either way, it's a strange design and a big disappointment! Regardless, I decided to test it out anyway. The distance was approx. 40 feet from the primary location to the secondary location (well below the 150 ft. max. limitation). Small apartment, none of the obstructions that were described (by the manufacturer) as creating any real signal obstacles. Fairly ideal conditions. Other than the remote control functionality, it performed quite poorly! The signal (sourced from a DVR) cut in and out, it often froze and was (at best) inconsistent and unusable! I also noticed that the video was darker than normal (as compared to the same exact DVR connected directly to the remote TV). This could be compensated for on the remote TV's adjustments but that shouldn't be necessary. Additionally, the audio was inconsistent. I would intermittently lose one channel. I tried moving both the transmitter and receiver around and tested several antenna positions. Neither option made any real improvements. Between (what I consider to be) the flawed design and the performance issues, I'm sorry to say that I wouldn't recommend this unit. Perhaps in a same room, line of sight situation it may offer better performance but that's too limiting and it was designed for a room to room application as well (which seems to be the primary purpose for this unit).

This was really easy to set up and it works really well. It does occasionally stutter and it seems that having a direct line of sight makes a big difference. The more powerful option would be better I am guessing if you have more than just 1 or 2 rooms to pass through. Occasionally the sound comes through a little odd, still clear and audible but slightly "echoey" but that is usually just for a second or two here and there. I was really happy with this purchase. I would give it 5 starts but just the few little intermittent connection and sound issues keep it from being flawless. For the money I would still recommend this product, it does was it was designed to do.

I bought a new 65 Inch Smart TV and sound bar. Mounted it on a different wall than my old tv and needed to get my cable box hooked up. A friend was over helping me hang the TV and mentioned this item as an option instead of running wires across my living room. I ordered it and it took less than 5 minutes to setup. Truly plug and play and the video is flawless. Great product!

IOGEAR 150FT/1 HDMI input. I have this hooked up between my 55" Samsung( 1080p ) and my Dell PC(Windows 8.1) I have the receiver velcro'd to the back of the TV(hidden) and the PC and transmitter in a wooden cabinet 15 feet away. I also tried it from my 3rd Bedroom, 35 feet away without any performance issue. With the 3rd Bedroom, the signal had to go through one wall / closet that has a washer & dryer in it (metal). In both cases, there was no "direct" line of site between antennas. Initially, the picture quality had just a smidge less brightness as with a direct HDMI cable from the PC to the TV but I increased the brightness in Windows to compensate. No issues with sound quality. I had to call IOGEAR tech support twice due to a PC setup issue which turn out to be my fault. Both times, Tech Support was very helpful and courteous.

Out of the box setup was quick and easy. Used this to avoid a long HMDI from my component video/stereo rack to my new BenQ projector for my newly installed 100" screen. It connected right away and we watched "Antman" as a precursor to the sequel coming out soon. Video quality was okay but not as crisp as I expected. At times it looked more like DVD quality than Blu-ray but mostly pretty good. After 2 days the receiver stopped powering on. Tried different outlets in different rooms with no luck. Since the image quality wasn't what I expected (especially for a device at this cost) I'm going to a $17.00 50 ft high speed HDMI cable and a wall cover to hide it running up to the projector. Return was offered with no issues.

When they work good, they work pretty good. When they don't (which was often), they can be frustrating. They are basically plug in and go as there is no customer facing settings available of any kind. There are no switches or buttons at all and no web interface that I know of. This can be a strength, but as you will see from below it may be one of it's biggest weaknesses. I am using them an honest 15 feet apart with one old, thin, non-insulated wall in between (heck, the wall is so thin I swear you can almost see through it). In general it works well and picture is fine. But I do get occasional total video drop-outs. Playing with antenna orientation does help but it's very finicky to even the slightest changes in position. The BIGGEST and MAIN problem though, and one that occurs with much more frequency, is that I get very bad audio/video sync problems, with the video ending up lagging behind the video by as much a 1 or 1.5 second, which is a LOT and REALLY annoying to watch. You basically have to restart one of the boxes to correct it and sometimes it holds for a long while, and sometimes it does it again in 10 minutes. I can deal with the video dropouts more than audio sync issues It is not a source input issue and doing anything to the source does not resolve the problem. I have a feeling the problems could be resolved if I could go in and tweak some network or system settings, but alas, there seems to be no way to do this. I have contacted iogear but their support was essentially useless unfortunately. This audio sync flaw is bad enough that I returned the unit. There is also another flaw but it isn't a dealbreaker. The device seems to have an error in it's implementation of CEC (or CEC pass-through as the case may be). If you don't know what CEC is none of this will make sense to you. Basically when I turn on my TV the device always forces by TV to tune to a specific TV input instead staying on the previous input from before the TV was turned off. The catch is that it isn't the correct input for the device, it tunes to a totally different one (but always that same one). It super strange. But it ONLY does it when this device is plugged into my TV. If I disconnect it the TV starts just fine and tunes to the last used input source and all of those CEC devices work fine. Anyway, this is a minor inconvenience in the end.

Works “ok” for what I need it for. I notice it occasionally will umm reboot or something because the boot up logo appears. Have not timed to see if it “reboots” in a pattern/interval but it does reboot and the odd time the picture freezes. Like I said it’s good for my application and am happy. If you need a constant signal and zero lose than look elsewhere or you will be disappointed.

I currently own 2 of the previous versions, but I wanted to broadcast it to my Gazebo in the backyard. Thus new system connected so easily and the signal is great. So far really impressed with the connectivity of the latest model!
