One may probably not be enough if you are serious about cheese
One may probably not be enough if you are serious about cheeseI have been thinking about how to make my own cheese for a while now. I remember how our cook in Mexico kept a stainless-steel bucket kept simmering on the back burner of the big stove to make the cheese she used nearly every meal. I never actually caught Amelia in the act of making the cheese but I always wondered what the rest of the process was like.I got the mold, downloaded a queso fresco recipe, gathered the few necessary supplies, and am preparing to get it done late this week. There is one hang-up. The kind of whole milk I need has to be unheated—not Pasteurized apparently. I'm going through my farmer friends to see who has a producing family cow with milk to spare. It probably won't be a problem. If nothing else, I can contact the parents of one of my students. They own a dairy. If it's not illegal for them to sell milk to anyone but their main buyer, I know I can get some there. My next quest is how to transport three gallons of milk. That's a whole lot of containers! The recipe is well written—very clear about each step and explains how to use the mold and follower. (See hyperlink below.) The recipe yields two rounds of cheese. They specify a pair of molds sold on Amazon—blue—which may be the same size, but I am not sure about that. I've gone back to compare volumes of the two kinds of molds. They keep throwing around figures (in liters) of volumes of cheese produced—hard vs. soft, volumes of containers. They are making my brain hurt! Someone with greater math capabilities can work on volumes.I accepted that I couldn't decide how much difference there was. However, both are made by the same Ukrainian company. The difference in color should mean there is a size difference unless the color change has something to do with supply availability due to the war.If you don't want to get another mold, the blog suggests a round, 7-inch Pyrex bowl with a lid.I recommend this product and/or the one suggested by the bloggers. It just depends on how big you want to go on this new adventure! Happy cheese-making!

Sturdy and effective for homemade cheese
This cheese mold allowed me to make my first batch of homemade farmer's cheese successfully. It's sturdy enough to hold up well under considerable weight to squeeze out as much whey as possible. However, the quality control of their injection molding could be improved since a significant number of the holes in the bottom were not stamped out completely, with thin layers of plastic still present. Those don't really affect the functionality much though.

Great home cheese maker!
We have occasionally made our own cheese at home, but usually we just sort of rig up some kind of mold. It is way easier and more convenient to have something like this. It isn't 100% necessary to make cheese, but having the mold makes it more likely that we'll be motivated to do it, so that deserves 5 stars alone. It's also great that this is well-designed and tough enough to stand up to normal (but not extra rough) use.

Homemade queso fresco!
Until I saw this cheese maker on Amazon, it never occurred to me to make my own queso fresco. As soon as I got this, I looked up a recipe online and surprised my husband with a fresh batch of his favorite cheese. It was super easy to use and easy to clean with a soapy brush. It's also dishwasher safe. We've also used it when we make cooked spinach, to press the excess water out before mixing the spinach into other ingredients. It's a simple, yet versatile and useful product that I'm happy to have in my kitchen.

Sturdy
I have already made a white cheese with this mold! It really makes it easier. This was the first time I have ever tried to make cheese and it’s surprisingly easy. All I needed was whole milk, vinegar, lemon juice and salt to make it. I just boiled the milk and salt in large pot then added the vinegar and lemon juice until it curdled. Let it cool. Then just filter it through a this mold with cheesecloth lining it to form the shape of cheese and then press down. Worked great! Can’t wait to experiment with different types of cheese!

Sturdy cheese mold
As a beginner cheese maker, I am enjoying the size, sturdiness, and clean-ability of this cheese mold.It came packaged in a bag without a label at all. There was a sticker stating it was made in the Ukraine.I’m the bag was the cheese mold and the follower. Both are a very sturdy plastic. I put them in the top of the dishwasher and they were easily cleaned. In the cheese making process, this mold is for the step of forming the curds into a block.I am really happy with this one and recommend it to other newbie cheese makers!
