EK-20 USB Programmable 20-key Keyboard with Software CD & Transparent Key Caps

It failed to work consistently in Win XP, but works well in Win 7 and Win 10. If you have it working in Win10, then turn your updates off, or you might find a new update torpedoes it. I'm using it in a Combat Flight Simulator as a command pad. So to send out an instruction to my wingman to attack my target, I need to press TAB, 1, 1. The EK-20 will do that on one key. You programme it as TAB, 500ms delay, 1, 500ms delay, 1. So that one key sends the macro command. I programmed it on a Win 7 computer using the included "Advanced Keyboard Utility", and then saved the commands on the EK-20 device. Since the commands are now stored on the device I can take it to the Win 10 Flight Sim computer, plug it in, and use it there. You can make as many different EK-20 files as you like, and save them to your computer. Then you can load them as necessary if you want to use the device with a different programme. It's a terrific device, and now that I have been using it for a while I highly recommend it.

I often have to repair terminals in shops and it is a nightmare typing out endless lines of code into command prompt. This keypad has streamlined efficiency to the point where I'm resolving issues in a third of the time.

My job requires a lot of repetitive key strokes and this keyboard is ideal for taking away a lot of the effort and cuts out the risks associated with inaccurate typing. Programming is easy, although the device thinks it's an American keyboard so swaps " for @ and vice versa. Remember that when programming it. I would have given 5 stars however one of the keycaps broke the instant I put it back on the key I'd just programmed after placing the label, so it loses a star for that. Otherwise a good piece of kit - just be careful with those clear key covers.

What can i say. I love this peace of gear. Im using it in conjunction with Microsoft Office Suite and the EK-20 is a blessing. It is used besides your regular keyboard. I can now start the programs with the push of a button (Word, Access, Excel, Powerpoint). I used the top 4 keys for that. I placed my most used key commands on the other 16 keys (save, save as, copy, paste, cut, select all,...). Instead of using and remembering all those key commands i can now trigger them with the push of a single button. Sweet. The programming is done via the included software. Once programmed it just works (no software needed to run the programmed keyboard). The build quality is very well. The USB cable is very long. If you doing office work on a regular basic it`s well worth to get one of these.
